Western Region readies for National Volleyball Championship

VolleyballTwenty-four volleyball players have been selected to represent the Western Region in the National Volleyball Championship which begins Saturday in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The team is made up of 12 each of male and females and have been in the last days been preparing feverishly in a bid to win laurels.

The male team is made up of Patrick Astu, Yahaya H. Mohammed, Joseph Guba, Yaw Opoku, Benjamin Eppie, and Eric Amoasi.

The rest are Isaac Ofori, John Paul, Samuel-Daniel Yaro Ayaga, Christian Fiawotso, Redeemer Kumah and Isaac Adusie Owusu

Competing in the women’s category for the region are Edith Lamprey, Ruth Kwakywaah Adjei, Yahyra, Salamatu Yakubu, Felicia Annama Mba, Betsy Kumah, Dorothy Dadzie, Justina Yawli, Gifty Adedze, Joana Baidoo and Rebecca Chawey.

The annual championship will see 10 regions battling it out to win the event.
