Renowned media personality Francis Doku recently shared his thoughts on Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s ambitious project, ‘Light up the streets with Asantewaa.’
Afua’s initiative aims to enhance community safety by fixing street lights, and she took to her social media accounts to seek donations, either in the form of money or lights.
In a heartfelt post, Afua emphasized the urgency of addressing the darkness in many communities, deeming it a dangerous situation that individuals could collectively resolve. She announced that the project would kick off on Friday, March 1, 2024, encouraging communities to contribute on their own or reach out to donate either street lights or cash. The call to action was underscored by her tagline, “LIGHT THE STREETS WITH AFUA ASANTEWAA, SAFETY FIRST,” posted on Facebook.
While acknowledging the merit of Afua’s project, Francis Doku playfully expressed concern that she might forget her MoMo (mobile money) PIN after receiving monetary contributions.
This originates from Afua Asantewaa’s recent acknowledgment of challenges, specifically her difficulty accessing her Guinness World Records Account. She stated that she couldn’t announce her disqualification because of her inability to log into her accounts.
Despite her explanations, some individuals, including entertainment journalist Kwame Dadzie, have cast doubt on her account, going as far as labeling her a liar.
