Ghanaian musician, Noella Wiyaala also known as Lion of Africa has apologized to entertainment pundit, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo.
She issued the apology during a telephone interview on Joy FM’s ‘Showbiz A-Z’ hosted by George Quaye.
Wiyaala initially refused to apologize because she felt Arnold’s comment about her was distasteful.
When asked what she really heard about entertainment pundits that did not go down with her, she said what made her emotional was when a pundit said ‘Wiyaala is not even part of the industry’ because she is more focused on the international music market.
According to her that statement had made her lose some gigs and deals both locally and internationally, adding that it had cost her so much.
She explained that she was billed to perform at some events but she had lost them due to that statement.
Wiyaala indicated that she does not receive royalties in Ghana, that why she focuses her attention on getting shows outside the country.
Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, who happened to be in the studio, claimed Wiyaala admitted to the fact that her focus is not on Ghana but rather international during her submission.
When George Quaye asked her to apologize so peace can prevail, Wiyaala stated that she will only apologize after Arnold apologizes to her first.
Wiyaala finally accepted to apologize to Arnold after panel members on the show made it clear that Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo did not insult her.
She apologized not only to Arnold but anyone who felt disrespected by her statements including her colleague musicians.
