Wife of the Vice President Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur has appealed to political parties and their supporters to embark on a campaign of issues to ensure peace ahead of this year’s elections.
The Second Lady made the statement over the week when she donated quantity of gas cylinders, gas cookers, head pans, head trays and nets for fishmongers valued at millions of Cedis to three communities in the Western Region.
The beneficiary communities were Princess town, Egyambra and Miemia, all in the Ahanta West District.
Donating the equipment in the various towns, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur said she was doing this in her own small way to help the people in the area especially fishmongers who need assistance to cushion and encourage them to work hard.
She commended the people of the area for keeping their communities clean and living in peace and unity.
“My vision is simply to help in my own small way to put smiles on the faces of the women.”
The wife of the Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has been going round the various regions in the country to donate to the less privileged.
The chiefs and elders in the three communities thanked her for the kind gesture especially in providing the facilities and urged her to continue with her good works.
She was accompanied by the Deputy Western Regional Minister Kow Gyan and the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency, George Kwame Aboagye.
