Management of Alpha Radio, a Kumasi-based radio station, has reached out to hundreds of orphans and widows living in and around the Kwabre East district with foodstuff and cash.
The ‘Sallah gifts’ were presented to assist the needy in society to have cause to celebrate this year’s Eid ul-Fitr, which is observed by Muslims across the globe.
Each of the over 500 orphans received a bag of rice, cooking oil, chicken, clothing and undisclosed amount of money each as their Eid package.
Managers of the radio station explained that orphans and widows are often deprived the joy of the season due to their state, hence the gesture.

He assured of the station’s continuous support to the vulnerable in society by putting smiles on people’s faces, especially during the celebration of the festival.

He tasked other organizations to emulate the social responsibility initiative.
