Today marks exactly nine years since Ghanaian hiplife recording artist, Castro and his friend Janet Bandu disappeared while cruising on a jet ski on the Volta Lake in Ada.
The celebrated musician was on a holiday with friends, including former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan. Castro is thought to have died in the jet ski accident while trying to save his drowning girlfriend Janet Bandu at the Aqua Safari estuary.
His body was never recovered, and on July 6, 2021, he was officially and legally declared dead. News of Castro’s demise broke the hearts of Ghanaians.
Castro was one of the best male vocal singers in the industry, and his disappearance was a major loss. He was known for his energetic stage performances and his catchy songs, which often featured social commentary.
Castro’s music was popular with both young and old, and he had a large following of fans.
