President Akufo-Addo has explained why he shuffled his ministers, which affected 12, including Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.
This change from the usual cabinet stability raised eyebrows, especially with criticism from the opposition, notably the National Democratic Congress, deeming it overdue and lacking transformative impact.
Despite ongoing calls for certain ministers, like Ken Ofori Atta, to step down, it wasn’t until February 14 that the President made this significant move.
In an interview with Blessed Sogah for JoyNews in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Akufo-Addo explained his decision, emphasizing it’s all about putting the welfare of the Ghanaian people first.
He firmly stated, “It is for the people of Ghana, not for me.”
Additionally, President Nana Akufo-Addo encouraged Ghanaians to trust in the democratic process, especially with upcoming elections. He highlighted the importance of democratic principles, urging citizens to actively participate in the electoral process and vote responsibly.
