Former France Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Anne Sophie Avé is calling on authorities to be given diplomatic passports to some top Ghanaian artistes.
According to her, these artistes; Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, King Promise, Shatta Wale, and R2Bees have marketed Ghana internationally better than some ambassadors, hence they deserve diplomatic passports.
Sophie Avé’s campaign comes following a great start of summer festivities abroad which these artistes have championed; Sarkodie is completing his Jamz tour in the US; King Promise shut down the Tottenham Sports stadium during Wizkid’s show; Stonebwoy is also on his North America tour for 5th Dimension album, amongst others.
The former ambassador to Ghana and former host ‘Touch of France’ [a TV talk show in Ghana] has always been a big fan of Ghana’s arts.
In a tweet reacting to the amazing performances these artistes have put across, bringing people from Ghana in the diaspora together, she wrote;
“Ghana 🇬🇭, you should give these guys diplomatic passports: they put Ghana to the world better than even the best ambassadors could in a lifetime @sarkodie @stonebwoy @blacksherif_ @shattawalegh @r2bees @IamKingPromise”
