The Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) has called off its three week strike after signing an MOU with government to defer the payment of its interim market premium.
In the memorandum of understanding, both parties agreed that the payment of the interim market premium should commence from January, 2017.
Per the memorandum of understanding, CLOGSAG is expected to further engage with the fair wages and salaries commission on the payment.
CLOGSAG and fair wages are expected to make suggestions for smooth migration from the interim market premium to the market premium.
The implementation of the market premium which is expected to commence in next January will also coincided with the payment of the interim market premium of CLOGSAG.
But sector minister of employment and labour relations, Haruna Iddrisu has assured, government will pay the interim market premium before smooth migration onto the market premium next year.
Haruna Iddrisu further assured government commitment to the implementation of the single spine salary structure.
