With four rounds of matches left to the end of the domestic season, clubs of the Ghana Premier League went into Week 27’s fixtures with determination to either keep or better their positions.

But it was not all that good for some after Sunday’s round of matches.

At the Nana Gyeabour Park, Bechem United whipped Hearts of Oak 3-1.

Abednego Tetteh scored a hat trick for the home side with Owusu Bempah getting the consolation for the former champions.

Another hat trick was recorded by league leaders Wa All Stars as striker Emmanuel Ocran made sure Dreams FC’s dream of clinching at least a draw got dashed.

Another thrashing was suffered by relegation-bound New Edubiase, who travelled to Tema to play Inter Allies.

Allies got four unanswered goals against the Ashanti Region side.

2016 CAF Confederation campaigners Medeama SC exited the continental competition over the week but not with their strength as they travelled to Dwarfs to beat the Mysterious Boys 2-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Champions AshantiGold pipped Sekondi Hasaacas to remain in contention of ending the season in the top half of the league.

WAFA were held to a 1-1 draw by Aduana Stars while Techiman City and Liberty Professionals played out a similar scoreline.

Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea also shared the spoils without recording any goals.
