President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has waded into the ongoing confusion in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia constituency.
After the NPP primaries some months ago in which the incumbent MP, Ama Sey lost, the NPP supporters have been divided, with one side faction urging her to even run as an independent candidate.

Ama Sey, who believed the vote was rigged called for a recount but that was rejected. Yesterday, Sunday, October 4, President Akufo-Addo was in Akwatia on a campaign tour but she did not show up at the function.
However addressing supporters, President Akufo-Addo said he has plans for Ama Sey in his second term.
According to him, he had also heard that Ama Sey was considering running as an independent candidate but he didn’t believe it.
He indicated that he knows Ama Sey is a true member of the NPP and has the party at heart so she won’t take such a decision.

Nana Akufo-Addo expressed disappointment about the fact that she did not show up at the campaign grounds and added that the MP herself knows she is part of his plans when he is given the nod to rule Ghana for the second time.
