Kuami Eugene says he should’ve won Artiste of the Year last year, blasts Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

Artiste of the Year, Eugene Marfo popularly known as Kuami Eugene has finally spoken after he won the award at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM this morning, Kuami Eugene said he should’ve won Artiste of the Year award at last year’s VGMA which was disrupted by Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s fracas.

He told Andy Dosty that he was disappointed last year when the show got messed up by Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy because he was favourite to be crowned as Artiste of the Year.

“I won’t sit here and act like I was happy about what happened. It’s an award show and it’s not for two people, it’s for every Ghanaian. So if it got messed up because of them, we can’t act like we’re happy and be complaining in our houses and throw shades at them in our beds which they can’t hear,” he said.

According to him, he worked hard within the year under review to be awarded Artiste of the Year in 2019.
