Three persons who allegedly shot and butchered a wayside fuel dealer to death Wednesday dawn at Nkoranza in the Ashanti Region have been arrested together with two others believed to be their financiers.
They are Kofi Emmanuel, 22; Kwadwo Addai, 18; Sadat Mohammed, 22; Moses Atoa, 19, and Power, 22; were arrested by the Police at Asafo BB in Kumasi following a tip off, TV3’s Ibrahim Abubakar reports.
Emmanuel, Kwadwo Addai, and Sadat Mohammed are said to be the three men who masked their faces, shot and butchered the 42-year-old Anthony Dabo at his home at Nkoranza.
They made away with unspecified amount of money and mobile phones.
The Police retrieved from them one locally manufactured gun and assorted mobile phones and jewellery.
Wife of the deceased, Hannah Amponsah, according to the Police, identified Emmanuel as one of the killers, Abubakar reports
The five suspects are being prepared for a special identification parade Thursday at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters for other people who might have been robbed by gang to identify them.
They will then be processed for court to face prosecution on charges likely to be murder and armed robbery.
Deputy Ashanti Regional Police commander, ACP Ampofo Duku who announced the arrest of the five suspects attributed the swift arrest of the suspects to information they received from the public yesterday.
Meanwhile, two persons [Papa Djan and Kwaku Ababe] who are said to be financiers of armed robbery in the region been declared wanted by the Police, our correspondent reports
The police is urging the public to assist it with information that will lead to the arrest of the wanted persons.
