Kwabena Agyepong ‘dumps’ Afoko in court

Agyapong

Suspended General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong will no longer testify as a witness for Mr Paul Afoko who is challenging his suspension from the New Patriotic Party.

Mr Agyepong was scheduled to mount the witness box at the Human Rights High Court in Accra next week to lead evidence against the NPP but Mr Afoko’s lawyer announced Thursday that Mr Agyepong will no longer be available.

No details were given as to why Mr Agyepong will not be available.

Consequently, counsel for Mr Afoko, Sarfo Buabeng, prayed the court to expunge the name of Mr Agyepong as a witness in the case in which Mr Afoko is alleging his suspension as the National Chairman of the NPP was against wrong.

The court presided over by Justice Anthony Yeboah accordingly struck out the name of Mr Agyepong from the records as a witness in the case, thus bringing a closure to the case of Mr Afoko.

The NPP is thus expected to open its defence in the case.

The case has been adjourned to June 24, 2016 for continuation.
