Lionel Messi names his top five world football players, excluding himself and Ronaldo

World football star, Lionel Messi has named his top five football players leaving himself and Cristiano Ronaldo out of the list.

Messi agreed to list his top five football players to Spanish newspaper Marca if he had to exempt himself and Ronaldo.

While Ronaldo is no more his competitor in the La Liga, Messi believes he’s still in the top two with himself.

He added that it was very difficult for him to see the former Real Madrid player beat him to trophies while they were competing in the same league for nine years.

“It was nice to have Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga because of the prestige he gave it, although it was hard to see him raise titles.”

Naming the top five players, Messi mentioned Neymar, Sergio Aguero, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, and Luis Suarez.

Messi played with Neymar and Suarez and together became a famous attacking trio affectionately called “MSN” who helped Barcelona to win a treble together back in 2015.

Sergio Aguero has played countless times with Messi in the Argentinean national team.

Mbappe and Hazard however have not played with Messi competitively in the same team.
