Former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has been appointed new coach of Algeria.
The Serb was named as Christian Gourcuff’s replacement on Sunday after the Frenchman had stood down in April.
Rajevac’s top card in Africa is helping Ghana reach the quarter-final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Earlier that year, the 62-year-old also led the Black Stars to a Silver Medal at the Cup of Nations in Angola.
He left Ghana for a relatively unsuccessful spell as Qatar coach.
Rajevac is expected to begin work in North Africa in July.
He will guide Les Fennecs through the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, which will see Africa’s top-ranked side meeting Cameroon, Nigeria and Zambia beginning October 3.
Before that, Rajevac will be at the helm, officially, in September when Algeria host Lesotho in the final qualifier for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. The North Africans have qualified already.
