My relationship with Obrafuor has improved – Okyeame Kwame

Okyeame Kwame says his relationship with Obrafuor is far better than before the rap legend dissed him.

In the track which creatively features Guru as a radio broadcaster interviewing Obrafour on phone, the ‘Maame’ hitmaker answers a number of questions on the state of hiplife. But the bit that seems to have caused the controversy is his answer to the question whether hiplife is dead.

In his answer, he took a swipe at Obour and Okyeame Kwame for their hit song, ‘The Game’ which suggested that hiplife was dying and need resurrection, perhaps by these two artistes.

Speaking exclusively to 3news.com, Okyeame Kwame said artistes who diss their fellow artistes do so to their own disadvantage.

“Before Obrafuor did a song to diss me, he used to call me once every four years [in] average. So, let’s say if I have known Obrafuor 12 years before me, he only called three times and after the diss he’s only called twice.

“Every artiste who disses another artiste disses himself and you beef openly. I don’t think that’s who Ghanaians are,” he said.

“We are not the ones that fight like that because we are a people of love as Busia puts it in his book and the Ghanaian is very respectful.”

Collaboration with Obrafuor

Ghana’s ‘rap dacta’ was uncertain whether he could collaborate with Obrafour on a single project.

“I love him and he loves me but collaboration with Obrafuor, I don’t know because immediately I collaborate with him people will think that we planned to do what we did.

“I don’t want people to think that I might have planned to confuse somebody just to sell my records”.
