The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams has debunked claims by flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the NDC has no campaign message, stressing that Nana Akufo-Addo is confusing a slogan for a campaign message.

The NPP flagbearer had last week pooh-poohed on the incumbent NDC’s mantra ‘Edey be k3k3’, describing it as a laughable campaign message that has no substance in it for Ghanaians

Reacting to that claim 3FM’s ‘Election Zone’, Mr Adams said: “Nana Addo does not know his left from his right; otherwise he will not go and say that ‘edey bee k3k3’ is a message.”
Mr Adams explained that ‘edey bee k3k3’ is a slogan. “It is a slogan to demonstrate that people who did not have water, now have water and those who did not have hospitals have one and airport are been expanded, factories have been revived and sea ports expanded and job opportunities are been generated…these are things that add up that make we say ed3 bii keke’.”

He emphasized, “But because Nana Addo does not understand, he will conclude that it is a campaign message. This is what makes some people to often question whether Nana Addo understands the nuances of a campaign, taking a slogan for a campaign message.”

On his role as the Campaign coordinator, he said every member of the NDC is going to be campaigning; “this team is just to sit and plan what will be done. They are just to be the eyes. Some people will sit and plan, decide what is happening and who goes where. That is what this team is to do. But everybody is part of the campaign team to see that John Mahama is re-elected.”

Asked what the trump card of the NDC is, going into the 2016 elections, Mr Adam said the NDC government has a good candidate who has done so well that we may not have difficulty to market him. He listed a number of projects such as hospitals, public universities, roads, telecommunications, airports, and factories etc as major achievements that the party will run on.
