King Jerry Speaks Out Against Awards’ Neglect Of Ga Legends Adotey Tetor And Adane Best

0

Ghanaian singer and songwriter King Jerry has passionately spoken out against award schemes for overlooking Ga music legends Adotey Tetor and Adane Best, despite their significant contributions over the years.

In an exclusive interview with Mzvel, host of Movement Showbiz on Movement TV, King Jerry expressed his frustration, stating,

“I always have to push this agenda and fight on any radio and TV station that I go to, but nothing is being done. Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede are all being honored, but they ignored Adotey Tetor and Adane Best just because they sing in Ga.”

This sentiment highlights a perceived bias in the industry, where artists from certain linguistic backgrounds are overlooked for recognition. King Jerry’s remarks shed light on the need for inclusivity and fairness in award selections.

Despite the challenges faced by Ga artists, King Jerry remains resilient, releasing his latest project, “Ololoolo,” which is now available on all digital stores. His determination to speak out and advocate for his fellow artists is a testament to his commitment to the Ghanaian music industry’s growth and inclusivity.

Actress and social media personality Rosemond Alade Brown, also known as Akuapem Poloo, has recently revealed details about her spiritual journey, crediting Islam for transforming her life and bringing her a sense of inner peace.

She recounted her profound experience during a trip to Mecca for Umrah, expressing amazement at the chance to touch the revered Kaaba. Despite the challenges posed by the large crowd, she felt a deep sense of joy and relief.

“I was overwhelmed with joy and relief after seeing the holy sacred Kaaba. In fact, I had goosebumps all over me seeing it and doing the Safah and Marwa.

“The crowd alone was something else; it was very massive and I had to force my way to perform the Safah and Marwa which is touching the holy Kaaba seven times. I really had to struggle but I’m so happy I was able to do it. It’s worth it. In fact, Islam is so beautiful,” she said.

She mentioned that adopting Islam has enhanced her role as a woman and mother, leading her to abstain from alcohol and earning her respect from her fans.

“Islam has really changed my way of life. I don’t take in alcohol anymore and I have become a better woman and mother to my son.  I don’t do stuff that will make him feel bad and I get much respect from my social media fans and I’m always peaceful,”she added.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, she detailed her journey and expressed gratitude for the support she received from Islamic leaders and friends, emphasizing the beauty of Islam and the doors it has opened for her.

Explaining why she regards Islam as a beautiful religion, the social media influencer described the initial struggles she faced when she converted to Islam approximately two years ago.

“It was not easy from the onset with some of the Islamic teachings and practices. For instance, it was difficult for me to get up to pray at 5 am, shifting from my skimpy dress style to a long abaya, and recitation of some Islamic verses among others,” she revealed.
However, with determination, perseverance, and encouragement from Islamic leaders and friends, she now finds enjoyment in the practices, despite her imperfections.
“We all serve one God, but being a Muslim has been a blessing to me. I’m always at peace; it has opened a lot of doors for me and I’m so grateful to Allah. . I am received warmly whenever I go to any Muslim community in Ghana. I have received abaya outfits as gifts and when I wear them, I look very decent and beautiful in them,” she continued.

She thanked Allah, Chief Imam Sheikh Usman Sharubutu, and Alhaji Abdul Salam for their guidance and assistance on her journey.

During an interview with Delay on the Delay Show, she boldly expressed that she naturally gravitates towards wealthier individuals, stating, “I’m a very beautiful woman, I’m lucky with men. I’m not even attracted to men who are poor. I’m attracted to rich men and they’re attracted to me.”

””It’s not that I reject them when they come; rather, they simply don’t come my way,”she explained.

Furthermore, she stressed the importance of prayer in her life, affirming her belief in divine intervention.

She elaborated, saying, “I am blessed by God. Each night, I offer prayers, sharing my background with Him, beseeching for destiny helpers. It seems that God is indeed answering my prayers.”
