Nigerian record producer, DJ, and songwriter Rexxie faced an unexpected turn of events on March 11 as he was arrested by Ugandan Immigration.
Following this, he utilized Instagram to communicate and share the news with his audience.
While he didn’t specify the cause, he described it as unfair and appealed for support using the hashtag “UgandaFreeRexxie.”
“I’ve been arrested at the Ugandan Immigration. “Pls I need help,” he stated.

The occurrence bears resemblance to the earlier detentions of Nigerian musicians Omah Lay and Tems in Uganda. Back in December 2020, they underwent detention for contravening COVID-19 regulations following a concert in Kampala. Their stint in jail lasted two days before eventual release.
Rexxie, known for producing hits like “Tesumole,” “Soapy,” and “KPK,” remains in custody with additional details yet to be disclosed
