General Overseer of the International God’s Way Church Bishop Daniel Obinim has been granted bail, 3news.com can confirm.
Though the police were tight-lipped on the bail terms, his lawyers have confirmed the granting of the self-recognisance bail.
Police officers stationed at the Accra Circuit Court on Thursday had to be dispersed by their commander after Obinim’s no-show.
Bishop Obinim is in the grips of the police for allegedly defrauding a man of GH¢11.6 million and also assaulting two members of his congregation.

After turning himself in at the Tema Regional Police Command over the assault case, he was whisked away to the Nima Divisional Police Command for the fraud case.
He was later sent to the Accra Regional Command for further questions.
It is still unclear whether the man of God, popularly know by his followers as ‘Angel’, is still at the Regional Command.

Bishop Obinim’s followers have been agitated by his arrest.
They thronged the Nima Command after he was sent there and held protest services there.
They also marched to the Regional Command to register their protest amidst chants of ‘No bishop, No Votes’.
