Obour accused of assaulting assemblyman in Asante Akyem

Former MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour has been accused of organising an assault on the assemblyman of Krufu West Electoral Area in the Asante Akyem District, Mr. Bismark Ampomah Wiredu.

Narrating his ordeal on Rainbow Radio the assemblyman alleged that Obour, who is an aspiring Parliamentary candidate for the area, held a meeting with NPP party delegates, violating the social distancing rule and ban on all social gatherings.

Mr Wiredu claimed that Obour met with over 35 party delegates with 25 members of his campaign team present.

He said he was allegedly assaulted when he went there to ask them to stop the meeting since it went against the ban on social gatherings.

“When I saw the entourage of Obour and the delegates, I was surprised and disappointed. At a point, I asked myself whether the ban on social gatherings had been lifted.

“The followers did not observe any social distancing rule. I later called the MCE to report and he asked me to take some videos and photos as evidence.

“I followed up to a Roman Catholic Church where the meeting was being held. I spoke to our party coordinator and told him the meeting was in violation of the ban on gatherings but I was rather assaulted by some thugs present,” he stated.

The assemblyman described the parliamentary candidate as a violent person who did not deserve to be voted for as a member of parliament.

Efforts to reach to Obour for his side of the story proved futile.
