Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong battling a Stroke

0

Two popular Ghanaian gospel singers, Diana Asamoah and Maame Tiwa, have disclosed the true state of popular gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong.

Diana Asamoah, during her show on Angel FM on Monday, February 26, 2024, revealed that Mr Yaw Sarpong is currently battling a mild stroke.

This follows Maame Tiwa’s viral video where she was weeping and pleading with God to grant Yaw Sarpong ‘healing mercies’.

Evangelist Diana Asamoah, made the recent revelation while sharing her thoughts on the vehicle that has been offered to veteran musician Edward Akwasi Boateng to ease his economic constraints.

She emphasized that just as gospel musician Akwasi Boateng has been gifted a car by Bishop El Benard, Yaw Sarpong, is now bed-ridden and equally needs proper health care.

“Yaw Sarpong is currently battling a mild stroke. He is bedridden and stuck indoors. As for Yaw, even if you gift him a car now, he won’t be able to use it.
He needs more than just a car. He needs proper medical care,” she stated during her show on Angel FM.

It can be recalled that in 2016, Yaw Sarpong, during an interview on Hitz FM, disclosed how a pastor healed him after doctors detected an injury in his spinal cord, and feared he might not be able to walk or talk again after surgery.

“After battling the sickness for some months, it got to a time I couldn’t stand on my feet so I was taken to Komfo Anokye Hospital. They did a CT and X-ray scan but told me they couldn’t detect the exact problem so I needed an MRI. Afterwards, they transferred me to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. After the MRI test, I was told something was noticed in my spinal cord so I needed surgery.

“They also told me that they needed to cut my throat and remove my vocal folds, and after the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to talk nor walk again. They said that was the best solution for me at that moment. But Bishop Dr JY Adu helped me. A few people had suggested him to me and I never regretted going to him for my healing,” he earlier stated.

Prophet Adom Kyei Duah’s prophecy

Sometime in December 2019, Prophet Adom Kyei Duah feared that Yaw Sarpong, who was then experiencing early signs of the stroke, might battle worse symptoms.

The Believers Worship Center founder invited Yaw Sarpong on stage during church service and said, “I know his condition and the repercussions. Even now as he is standing, he isn’t fit and that is why I have asked those behind him to be monitoring him. This type of sickness has now become very popular. Before you know it, you are bedridden and all of a sudden, half of your entire body turns numb. But this is not Yaw Sarpong’s portion.”

2024 Election: Mahama Nominates His Running Mate

0

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has officially nominated his running mate for the 2024 presidential election, the party has stated.

According to a statement issued by the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Kwetey, the Council of Elders of the party would now meet to discuss Mahama’s choice.

The party also stated that the meeting of the Council of Elders would be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 am; adding that after the elders’ meeting, its National Executive Committee would also meet on the matter at 2:00 pm on the same day.

“The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has today received a formal communication from our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, regarding the nomination of his Running Mate in accordance with Article 45 of the NDC Constitution.”

“In response to this communication, the party is pleased to announce that a meeting of the Council of Elders will convene at 11:00 hrs on Thursday, March 07, 2024, to deliberate on this significant matter. Subsequently, the National Executive Committee will gather at 14:00 hrs on the same day to further consider the nomination,” part of the statement, which was dated February 27, 2024, reads.

It added, “The venue and logistical details for these meetings will be communicated directly to all participants in due course”.

The NDC expressed optimism that the running mate chosen by Mahama would help it win the 2024 election and also help get Ghana back on track after the party wins the 2024 polls.

“The NDC is confident that the Running Mate will bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and dedication to our campaign. The selection will undoubtedly complement the vision of our esteemed leader, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, as we collectively strive to ‘Build the Ghana We Want together’.”

Reports indicate that the choice of Mahama’s running mate has been narrowed to three regions by the party: Central, Eastern, and Ashanti, with Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Julius Debrah, and Kwame Awuah-Darko representing the three regions, respectively.

Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was the running mate of Mr. John Dramani Mahama in the December 2020 general election, but they failed to win the elections. She has been criticized for adding little to the ticket and losing her home region of the central region.

Julius Debrah, former chief of staff during the erstwhile John Mahama administration (January 2013–January 2017), is the next potential candidate of choice for the NDC ticket. He hails from the Eastern Region.

Kwame Awuah-Darko is a former BOST and TOR Managing Director under the erstwhile John Mahama government and is credited with its transformation.

He is a businessman and a banker, the 3rd son of the late Nana Awuah-Darko Ampem I, the Nkosuohene of the Asante Juaben traditional area in the Ashanti Region.

Afia Pokuaa shares how she was almost raped on a Lapaz-bound trotro

0

Media personality Afia Pokuaa has a crucial message for women relying on public transport, as she recounts a distressing incident from her past. In a video, she disclosed an almost assault experience in a Trotro headed to Lapaz from Tema. This incident occurred during her student days when she wrote for the P&P paper, commuting from Tema for news stories.

On the particular day in question, having gathered a story, she opted for public transport to return to the office. Seated beside the conductor (mate), she felt uncomfortable as his elbow repeatedly touched her. Fearful of passengers’ reactions, she hesitated to voice her discomfort. Notably, a fellow passenger was about to disembark, prompting her to lift her arm and discover the shocking reality – it wasn’t the conductor’s elbow but his inappropriate actions.

Afia Pokuaa revealed that the conductor had been rubbing his genitals on her thighs, having ejaculated on her skirt. Reacting courageously, she slapped him. The passengers, upon inquiry, discovered the misconduct and proceeded to beat up the conductor. Despite their urging, Pokuaa, traumatized, decided to alight and leave, unable to continue her journey.

She added that a similar incident occurred a second time. In her advice to women, Afia Pokuaa emphasizes the importance of vigilance and reporting such incidents for the safety of all women using public transport.
