Blakk Rasta releases song against Donald Trump

0

Blakk RastaFormer Hitz FM radio presenter Abubakar Ahmed, popularly known as Blakk Rasta, is out with yet another song revolving around American politics.

The KNUST graduate shot to the music limelight with his ‘Barack Obama’ hit song in 2008 in the run-up to that year’s elections in the US.

As the race to the White House heats up again, the Ghanaian presenter is out with a song, this time not singing the praise of an aspirant but casting insinuation at him.

The song is against Republican forerunner Donald Trump, whose messages on the campaign trail has raised a lot of eyebrows.

The multi-billionaire, for instance, has threatened to tighten America’s borders if elected president.

But titled ‘Dumb Trump’, Blakk Rasta’s song is aimed at whipping up support against Trump’s candidature.

Blakk Rasta has already described Trump as a terrorist, a fraud and an ancestor of Adolf Hitler.

3 SA ex-cops were training NPP guards for free

0

ex SA police officersA counsel for three repatriated South African former cops has disclosed that the men did not charge to train bodyguards for the leadership of the New Patriotic Party.

Mr. Atta Akyea was contesting claims that three former police officers were working in Ghana.

“They were not working…that means you are talking about remuneration. This people came to help them,” he told TV3 New Day Wednesday.

Ahmed Shaik Hazis, Denver Dwayne Naidu and Mlungiseleli Jokani were arrested in the Central Region last week engaging in security activities contrary to what their visas permitted them to do in Ghana.

They were put before court for conspiracy to commit crime and unlawful training but were granted bail on Thursday. They were however deported to South Africa Tuesday morning.

Atta Akyea who is the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South stressed, “They were not going to be paid. That is the point of the whole matter. They have not put any price on what they were doing; so why should anybody imagine… ”

He however fell short of disclosing who covered their travel cost from South Africa to Ghana

“I’m not able to divulge that because with all respect, I don’t have the full information as to the cost of their coming. But what I know is that this was for free.

“There are a lot of things that happen for free when they know that there is a good man to protect his interest.”

At the time of their arrest, the three ex-cops were training 15 men in VIP protection and other security drills for NPP’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo, his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and their spouses.

Atta Akyea told New Day host Bridget Otoo that the party would find a way of providing security to the leadership of the party.

“We will ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo’s security is not naked,” he emphasized and assured that the party would not do anything to create unnecessary tension in the country.

Cape Coast School for Deaf & Blind receive donation from Diplomatic Platform

0

File photoDiplomatic Platform has presented assorted items worth GH₵10,000 to the inmates of the Cape Coast School for the Blind to help the school meet some of its daily needs after the NDC youth group toured the Central Region last week.

The items include bags of rice, boxes of Indomie noodles, tins of Milo and milk, cooking oil and assorted soft drinks.

Presenting the items to the inmates at a brief ceremony at the School’s premises in Cape Coast, Administrator of the Diplomatic Platform, Julius Logass, explained that the gesture forms part of President John Mahama’s Changing Lives and Transforming Ghana agenda.

“We are here for you to feel part of the Changing Lives and Transforming Ghana agenda of the NDC.

“We are also here to make sure that we extend what we have to the society but the less privileged ones as well,” he stressed.

Expressing the ideology of the Platform, which portray the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the only credible and competent party in Ghana, Julius Logass urged all and sundry to vote massively for President Mahama to win a second term in office.

Julius Logass also stressed the need for all and sundry to play a good role in ensuring that Ghana remains peaceful before, during and after the November polls.

Coordinator of the Diplomatic Platform Nii Ashitei Ashietey maintained that the platform has always made it a point to reach out to the disadvantaged in the society since its inception.

He pledged the group’s magnanimity will be extended to cover more of the less privileged ones within the society across the length and breadth of the country.

Headmaster of the School Setum Ametewee, who received the items on behalf of the School, was grateful to Kofi Matthew, a member of the Platform, for serving as a conduit between the school and the Diplomatic Platform to reach the inmates with the items on time.

He thanked the group for the support and also used the occasion to appeal to other philanthropic individuals and organizations to emulate the kind gesture.

Meanwhile, the Diplomatic Platform in the Central Region toured the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly taxi rank, where they interacted with the public, highlighting the policies of the NDC’s Better Agenda, the achievements chalked by President John Dramani Mahama during his first tenure of office as copiously documented in his ‘Green Book’.

They finally visited the Kotokuraba market located in Cape Coast where they inspected the ongoing market project, which is almost 80% nearing completion.

The Diplomatic Platform is a Whatsapp platform created with youth membership of 100 who share in the principles and ideology of the National Democratic Congress Party (NDC).

The Platform has stretched its charity arm to support a worthy cause in many ways by reaching out to most disadvantaged ones in the society since its inception in July 22, 2014.

US to increase military presence in eastern Europe

0

President ObamaThe US is stepping up its troop presence in eastern Europe in response to an “aggressive Russia”, the military has said.

From next year, three fully manned US combat brigades will be deployed.

The BBC’s diplomatic correspondent says it is the most significant US reinforcement of Nato since tensions flared over Russian action in Ukraine.

Last month the Pentagon announced plans to quadruple its budget for European defence in 2017.

The additional presence will increase US ability to conduct military exercises in the region.

The plan demonstrates “our strong and balanced approach to reassuring our Nato allies and partners in the wake of an aggressive Russia in eastern Europe and elsewhere”, said Gen Philip Breedlove, the senior US commander in Europe.

“Our allies and partners will see more capability. They will see a more frequent presence of an armoured brigade with more modernised equipment in their countries,” he added.

‘Division’s worth of stuff’

Each brigade will rotate through the region for nine months before being replaced.

There are about 4,500 soldiers in a brigade, bringing with them military vehicles and other equipment.

“There will be a division’s worth of stuff to fight if something happens,” Deputy Secretary of Defence Robert Work told the Wall Street Journal.

Relations between Russia and the West have plummeted since Russia annexed the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in March 2014.

The intervention sparked fears that Russia was considering other incursions into neighbouring countries.

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond told Reuters on Wednesday the situation in Ukraine had “gone backwards over the last few months, with more and more violations of the ceasefire”.

Russia has accused Nato of using the situation in Ukraine as an excuse to move closer to Russian borders.

“Stories are being spread that Russia will send its tanks into the Baltic states, into Sofia or into Budapest. No-one intends to do that,” Russia’s Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov told German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

Some analysts suggested the US military could be planning for the post-Obama era.

The frontrunner to be the Republican nominee for the presidential election, Donald Trump, has strongly attacked the economic cost of US foreign policy.

NPP executive drags EC to Supreme Court over voters’ registration

0

filephotoThe Supreme Court will on April 6 hear a motion seeking to stop the Electoral Commission from going ahead with the limited voters’ registration exercise scheduled for April 18.

Kwame Baffoe, who is the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, wants the exercise that is aimed at registering new voters halted until the final determination of a suit he has filed at the court.

In the substantive case, Mr Baffoe is seeking to compel the Electoral Commission to compile a new voters’ register since the current register is unfit for use in the November 7 general election.

“That the current register is not fit for the 2016 general election as it is publicly known to be bloated and contains names of constitutionally ineligible voters,” he claims in his writ.

He argues that the current register is fraught with names of foreigners, minors, and deceased persons among other ineligible persons, noting some people registered with National Health Authority cards, which the court declared as unfit for registration.

According to him, the EC has failed to put effective measures in place to prevent the registration of foreigners, minors and other ineligible persons from registering in the limited voters register.

He contends that the arrangements by the EC in the run up to the registration exercise are “undemocratic and flies in the face of the principles of good governance”.

The Youth Organiser claims the EC have failed to implement the VCRAC Crabbe Committee’s recommendations and findings having spent huge sums of taxpayer’s money.

Mr Baffoe avers going ahead with the limited registration exercise in the face of what he termed glaring flaws in the current register, is inimical to democratic principles for which reason the EC ought to be stopped.

That unless the EC is restrained by an order of this honourable court, the EC will go ahead to conduct the proposed limited registration of voters slated”.

Deported ex-SA cops not sure who invited them to Ghana – GIS

0

SA police court

Whilst documentation shows that three deported former South African police officers were invited by two named institutions, the deportees said otherwise; findings by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) revealed.

The three – Ahmed Shaik Hazis, Denver Dwayne Naidu and Mlungiseleli Jokani – were in the country on the invitation of McDan Shipping Ltd and the Danquah Institute for purely business meetings in Accra.

However, the GIS has released a statement, which suggested that the three, in their written statement, gave conflicting report about their mission in Ghana and who invited them.

According to them, they were invited by the New Patriotic Party to train party functionaries on VIP security drills.

“In their own hand written statements, taken under caution at the BNI and in the presence of their Lawyer, the three (3) individuals indicated that they were engaged by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come to the country and conduct training for fifteen (15) bodyguards from the party in VIP security drills.”

The GIS statement also noted, “On the face of the documentation examined, it was clear that the three individuals were not sure of who actually invited them. The NPP as a legal entity did not invite the three South Africans to Ghana and there is no documentation to contradict this fact. The evidence available points to McDan Shipping Ltd and the Danquah Institute as the invitees. As earlier indicated these institutions are not security organisations.”

The three were arrested in the Central Region last week engaging in security activities contrary to what their visas permitted them.

They were put before court and granted bail on Thursday. They were however deported to South Africa Tuesday morning whilst the case was still pending in court, much to the chagrin of their lawyers.

REPATRIATION OF THREE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONALS

The Ghana Immigration Service amongst other responsibilities is the institution with the mandate of regulating and monitoring the entry and exit of foreign nationals as well as ensuring the removal of foreign nationals in breach of Ghana’s immigration laws.

It has come to our notice that three (3) South African nationals, namely, Major (Rtd) Ahmed Shaik HAZIS a.k.a Chris aged 55yrs , W. O (Rtd) Denver Dwayne NAIDU aged 39yrs and Cpt. (Rtd) Mlungiseleli JOKANI aged 45yrs arrived variously in the country on the 5th and 14th of March respectively.

The suspects were reportedly arrested by the BNI for engaging in acts suspected to be inimical to national security. The GIS on 23/03/16 requested for their release to the Service for the determination of their immigration status in the country. The suspects indicated in their written statements that they were invited by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to train its security personnel. The GIS proceeded to review their Visa Application process to confirm the veracity of their claims and reconcile their current status and activities. In the process to ascertain these facts the forms they submitted to our Mission in Pretoria, South Africa and the disembarkation cards filled by them upon their arrival at KIA were vetted.
FINDINGS
The three (3) SA nationals were issued B1 (Business) visas which prohibits any form of employment. Their individual hosts had indicated in their respective invitation letters that subjects were to “travel to Accra for a series of business meetings” with them.
MlungiselelI Jokani and Denver Dwayne Naidu who are both employees of GLAEXEC PROTECTION SERVICES LTD in South Africa were invited by Dr Daniel Mckorley of McDan Shipping Company Ltd by a letter dated 2/03/16. Hazis Ahmed Shaik an employee of iMvula Quality Protection (Africa) (Pty) Ltd on the other hand was invited by Nana Attobrah Quaicoe of the Danquah Institute by a letter dated 22/12/15.

Hazis Shaik was first to arrive in Ghana. He came on board a South Africa Airlines plane, [Flt no. SA 52] at around 9:40pm on the 5/03/16 on a Republic of South Africa passport number M00052092. He indicated on his disembarkation Card that Movenpick Hotel –Accra was his contact Address in Ghana.

The two other individuals invited by McDan Shipping Ltd arrived in Ghana around 10:15pm on 14/03/16 on South African Airlines, [Flt No. SA 209] and were both travelling on Republic of South Africa passport numbers M00096231 and A05213410 respectively. They both indicated on their disembarkation cards that Alisa Hotel-Accra was their contact Address in Ghana.

WRITTEN STATEMENTS
In their own hand written statements, taken under caution at the BNI and in the presence of their Lawyer, the three (3) individuals indicated that they were engaged by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come to the country and conduct training for fifteen (15) bodyguards from the party in VIP security drills. Hazis who was identified by the other two as their leader, indicated in his statement that he was “engaged to provide VIP protection training to the protection security officers of the Leader of the Opposition party in Ghana, the NPP. This was my reason for being in Ghana”. This statement does not conform with the purpose of their invitation [“travel to Accra for a series of business meetings”] which they indicated on their application for visa to the Ghana Mission in Pretoria, South Africa.
Based on the aforementioned findings the GIS draws the following conclusions;
1. The two organizations which extended the invitation to the three South Africans are not known to be registered security companies.
2. The series of meetings indicated in the invitation letters, on the strength of which the visas were issued, were to be held in Accra with the two organizations.
3. On the face of the documentation examined, it was clear that the three individuals were not sure of who actually invited them. The NPP as a legal entity did not invite the three South Africans to Ghana and there is no documentation to contradict this fact. The evidence available points to McDan Shipping Ltd and the Danquah Institute as the invitees. As earlier indicated these institutions are not security organisations.
4. They were training 15 Ghanaians out of Accra in security drills, which contradict the express purpose for their coming to Ghana, which was to attend meetings.
Additionally, it is the view of the GIS that the training exercise conducted by the three at the El Capitano Hotel in the Central Region to a group that did not invite them, is clearly a confirmation of the attempt to conceal the motive for their visit and was therefore a breach of Section 52(1) (e) and (i) of the Immigration Act 2000 (Act 573). Their act is also a breach of the conditions precedent for the issuance of visas as contained in the instructions on Form B (Reg.3 (4) of the Immigration Regulation 2001 (LI 1691).

In view of the foregoing, the Director of Immigration acting in accordance with Section 20 of the Immigration Act 2000 (Act 573) has revoked the visas issued to the three South Africans. The Director has further ordered their repatriation to South Africa in line with Section 21 of the Immigration Act 2000 (Act 573).

Deportation of 3 SA ex-cops an insult to Ghana’s judicial system

Member of the Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea

One of the lawyers for the three South African ex-cops who were deported from Ghana, Samuel Atta Akyea has said the decision to deport the 3 is an insult to Ghana’s judiciary.

According to the lawyer who is also Member of the Parliament for Abuakwa South, if the South Africans were ‘guilty as being purported by their accusers’ why should they be left off the hook?

He further questioned that why would the state, after indicating that the South Africans were criminals, allow them to leave the shores of the country if they were indeed guilty?

He raised these questions adding that the action by the state is an affront not only to the rights of the individuals but to Ghana’s judicial system. Speaking on Midday Live on TV3 he said the “deportation is a huge embarrassment to the countries security agencies.”

Mr. Atta Akyea also chastised the Bureau of National Investigations –BNI for flouting the courts order for the trio to be released on bail. He said he and his colleagues would go ahead to sue the BNI for contempt and disregard for the rule of law.

Atta Akyea was among seven lawyers who represented the three South Africans who they appeared in court.

The South Africans were invited into the country by the NPP to train the bodyguards of their flagbearer and his running mate, Nana Akufo Addo and Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia.

The NPP said it had picked intelligence that the governing National Democratic Congress was plotting to harm their flagbearer ahead of the November elections.

Farting can make people around you healthier – Study finds

0
According to scientists, farting is another bodily function meant to prolong life.
According to scientists, farting is another bodily function meant to prolong life

Believe it or not, your farts are prolonging your life. All the times you were worried that people might laugh if you audibly farted? Well, believe it or not, they should be thanking you — not laughing at the sound or cringing at the smell.

According to a study done by Exeter University, farting, the process of releasing gas from the body, is actually healthy.

Everybody farts. Whether in private, outside in nature, or surrounded by friends (or complete strangers), the pressure that is built inside from the quivering stomach muscle is released into the world.

Depending on what is being held in the intestines or stomach acid, these farts can carry an incredibly raunch stench or be rather odourless. They can be silent, or if angled off the right chair, echo throughout an entire room.

People will either own their farts with pride or stay quiet about the ordeal, even throwing someone else under the bus of stinky gases. The process of releasing gas is a natural function of the body, much like burping, and relieves pressure from deep within you. Have you ever thought to ask if it had any more functionality to the body?

Imagine you are in a high-end restaurant. The food is extremely rich in content and your stomach starts quivering. A sensation deep within the intestines is signalling to your body that you have to fart.

According to scientists, farting is another bodily function meant to prolong life. This is due to the chemical makeup of the gas that exits your body. Like Flouride (found in the average toothpaste), Hydrogen Sulfide can be deadly in high doses.

However, a fart contains a small dosage of Hydrogen sulfide that is small enough to be consumed by humans. The specific amount that leaves the body in a fart is extremely healthy. Imagine, all the times you farted in class, you were helping those around you lead a healthier life.

But how is a fart healthy?

Understanding the chemistry is the next step. Hydrogen Sulfide is produced via bacteria breaking down the food in the gut of any human. Apparently, a small dosage of Hydrogen Sulfide can help combat Dementia.

This is because the disease changes the way enzymes work in the human body. While suffering with an illness, enzymes are hired to generate the gas anyway.

A new compound, AP39, is being made out of the gas in order to pump straight to the disease in people. While still in the early testing phase, the compound has been effective in helping 80% more mitochondria survive with cardiovascular disease running rampant. But that is not all, the fart gas has the ability to keep people safe from heart attacks, strokes, arthritis, and cancer, according to The Mirror.

Hydrogen Sulfide is not only found within your body, but is also the culprit behind the foul smell of rotten eggs. That’s right — the awful and grotesque smell of past-due-date eggs is comprised of the same gas that is now being used to treat vicious diseases in the human body.

Maybe it is time for people with smelly farts to start bottling them up. Will jars of Hydrogen Sulfide start being the key to ridding the body of Dementia?

Regardless, the next time you find yourself needing to release a fart, just go ahead and do it. Now you can be proud and even smile as the stench rises up to your nostrils. Not only are you helping yourself, but the others surrounding you will have to thank you as well. Stand up for your farts.

US Ambassador wants Ghana to strengthen intelligence

Robert Porter Jackson
Robert Porter Jackson

The United States ambassador to Ghana, Robert Porter Jackson, has asked Ghana to heighten intelligence to be able to neutralise any terrorism threat.

He said although Ghana hasn’t been a target of terrorism yet, that does not stop the country from putting proactive measures in place to contain any possible danger.

Mr Jackson said this when he met with the Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon. He has arrived in  the Ashanti Region to get briefings on the Old Tafo communal riot between the Muslim community and the traditional rulers,  and to also learn about the Agogo security situation arising out of the nomadic Fulani menace.

The ambassador said the US government is prepared to share best security practices with Ghana to deal with security threats, saying “I think we can be stronger in dealing with security threats when we exchange information”

On the Old Tafo riot, Mr Jackson said there was the need for the traditional and religious leaders in the area to work together to address their differences for peace to prevail.

Transport ministry courts businesses into lake transport

0

Lake

Deputy Minister of Transport Joyce Mogtari has called on the private sector to invest in lake transport.

The Deputy Minister in an interview on 3FM’s Sunrise Morning show hosted by Winston Amoah stated that her ministry is working hard to ensure that they provide the necessary infrastructure and conducive environment for businesses to thrive in that sector.

“I always say that what is interesting about this country is that we are happy to invest in all sorts of endeavors but I have actually come to observe that lake transport hasn’t received that much attention from the private sector.

“As part of government’s public private policy agreement, we are working to encourage private participation which we believe will actually bring in the needed funds to acquire more ferries which I believe will ease the pressure on travelling on the lake.

She said the ministry is developing policies that will allow for deeper engagement and participation in the lake transport sector.

Government is also working to provide additional ferries on the Volta Lake, Joyce Mogtari said.

Bank of Ghana governor to step down this week

0
Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah
Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah

Bank of Ghana Governor, Henry Kofi Wampah, will retire this week, he said on Tuesday, cutting short a four-year term during which he has struggled to curb inflation and stem the decline of the national currency.

Wampah, whose term officially ends on Aug. 5, told Reuters he had informed President John Mahama of his intention to leave by the end of this month, adding the decision was partly linked to presidential and parliamentary elections planned for November.

“I told him I wanted to leave office early and we have agreed that I will exit at the end of March,” Wampah said. “It is just fair to leave early in order to give enough room for my successor, whoever it might be, to settle down before we get to the elections.”

He said one of his two deputies, either Millison Narh or Abdul Nashiru Issahaku, was expected to serve as interim central bank governor until Mahama chooses a permanent successor.

Once considered a rising star in Africa, Ghana, which exports cocoa, gold and oil, has been dogged by large budget deficits, ballooning public debt and inflation that consistently tops government targets.

Mahama appointed Wampah amid serious fiscal imbalances caused mainly by election spending in 2012 and a burdensome public sector wage bill that complicated the bank’s task of managing the money supply.

Wampah responded with a string of monetary policy reforms, including tighter foreign exchange liquidity management to slow inflation.

The bank held its benchmark interest rate at 26 percent in its latest rate decision last week.

As a member of the economic management team, he also helped negotiate a $918 million programme with the International Monetary Fund last year aimed at re-establishing macro-economic stability.

“Its unfortunate that Wampah is not going to be there to complete the IMF program through the election period,” said Joe Abbey, director of the Accra-based Centre for Policy Analysis.

“I’ve found him to be somebody who is able to stand his grounds even if that didn’t seem to be the most palatable position to take,” he added.

While the cedi currency has for the first time in several years withstood the seasonal first quarter pressure to rally, it has lost 94 percent of its value against the dollar since Wampah was sworn in January 2013.

Consumer price inflation meanwhile slowed in February, but still stood at 18.5 percent.

Such crippling figures have earned Wampah heavy criticism from some quarters.

He has also faced calls for his resignation this year over what some said was the bank’s failure to effectively monitor DKM Microfinance, a small firm that lost millions of cedis in its customers deposits before it had to be liquidated.

Wampah dismissed suggestions that he was being forced to step down due to the controversy surrounding the company’s collapse.

3 South African ex-cops deported

0

South African ex police

The three South African ex-police officers arrested in Ghana for allegedly training bodyguards of Nana Akufo Addo, have been deported to their home country.

The deportation which took place around 9:25 on Tuesday morning saw the three ex officers wearing the same outfits they had on, on the day of arrest about a week ago.

They were sent on board South African Airways flight 210 heading to Johannesburg. The three South-African Nationals namely, Ahmed Shaik Hazis, Denver Dwayne Naidu and Mlungiseleli Jokani were arrested on 20/03/16 at El Capitano Hotel at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI). They were arrested while training fifteen men in various security drills.

The arrest of the three created a heated argument between the main opposition New Patriotic Party-NPP who had invited them into the country and government i.e the Bureau of National Investigations – BNI.

The three were granted bail of GHC 20,000 with one surety each. The BNI after the bail was granted whisked the men back into custody, a move severely critised by the NPP which described it as an act against the Human Rights of the trio and a breach of Ghana’s constitution.

The NPP subsequently said it would file a contempt suit against the BNI for the detention of the trio but following the deportation of the three, it is unclear what the next move of the party would be.

Nigeria crush out of AFCON 2017

0

SportsNigeria have crushed out of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after defeat to Egypt in Alexandria ended their hopes of qualifying.

The 2013 champions needed a win in front of a strong, passionate crowd to go through but were second best for much of the game to Egypt and conceded the vital goal when Ramadan Sohby slotted after Nigeria had failed to clear their lines from a corner kick.

While defeat marked the end of the road for the Super Eagles, it left Egypt mighty close to a return to the Nations Cup for the first time since 2010 when they won the last of their record seven titles.

There was also bad new for South Africa who could only draw goalless with Cameroon to leave their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

We won’t allow Ya Na Abdulai’s funeral at Gbewa Palace- Andanis insist

0

Gbewaa Palace

The Andani Royal Gate of Dagbon in the Northern Region has insisted it will not allow the final funeral rites of the late Ya-Na Mohammedu Abdulai IV to be performed at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

“We shall under no circumstance allow the performance of funeral of Mahamadu Abdulai at the Gbewa Palace. To allow this to happen is to reward crime since the reason they forcibly removed Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II from the palace to pave way for the funeral of  Mahamadu Abdulai”, spokesperson for the Andani Royal family, Basharu Dabali has said

Speaking at ceremony at the forecourt of the Gbewa Palace Friday to mark the 14th anniversary of the demise of their overlord, Ya Na Yakubu Andani, Dabali said allowing the funeral to be performed at the Palace would mean glorifying wrongdoing considering that Ya Na Abdulai was not a chief at the time of his death.

A Quran recitation led by the Imam of Yendi, Alhaji Alhassan Yussif, was performed for the soul of late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II.

The insistence of the Andani family to prevent the Abudu Royal Gate from performing the final funeral rite of the Ya-Na Mohammedu Abdulai is in breach of the peace roadmap by the Asantehene Committee of Eminent Chiefs.

Parties to the roadmap agreed for the funeral rites to be performed at the Palace by the Abudus but the Andanis have since refused to grant them access; something that caused the Abudus to boycott a meeting by the Committee recently.

Though the decision by the Andani Royal Gate not to allow the Abudu Royal Gate to perform the final funeral rite of the Former Ya-Na Mohammedu Abdulai IIII defies the road map to peace by the Asantehene Committee of Eminent Chiefs, Basharu Dabali insisted allowing his funeral to be performed at the palace will mean glorifying wrong doings.
