Two red cards, five disallowed goals: Check out the craziest London derby in recent history

0

In the years to come, when the tale of this Premier League season is recounted in one of those slick reviews on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, the epic clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on Monday night will undoubtedly serve as one of the most iconic and climactic moments of the campaign.

This showdown, characterized by unrivaled chaos, sheer madness and unbridled intensity, unfolded into one of the most memorable London derbies in history. Despite suffering a 4-1 defeat on their home turf, the Spurs’ faithful showered their manager Ange Postecoglou with heartfelt tributes.

It is undeniable that Tottenham fans have wholeheartedly espoused Postecoglou’s exhilarating and daring style of play, which propelled their club to the summit of the Premier League with an impressive unbeaten streak of 10 games.

However, these post-match scenes barely scratched the surface of what truly transpired on the pitch. The magnitude and complexity of this encounter surpassed any attempts at a simple explanation. It was a spectacle that defied conventional comprehension.

The clash kicked off in superb fashion for Tottenham, as they took a deserved lead in the sixth minute when Dejan Kulusevski’s shot took a deflection off Chelsea’s Levi Colwill and found the back of the net. Shortly thereafter, Son Heung-min had a goal disallowed due to a narrow offside decision.

Chelsea, too, had their fair share of overturned goals, as Raheem Sterling and Moises Caicedo both had their efforts ruled out for handball and offside, respectively. However, the latter incident resulted in Chelsea being awarded a penalty due to a reckless challenge by Cristian Romero on fellow countryman Enzo Fernandez.

Romero was rightfully shown a red card after a lengthy VAR check and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer stepped up and converted the penalty, leveling the match. Unfortunately for Spurs, their fortunes took another blow as Micky van de Ven suffered what appeared to be a severe hamstring injury, and James Maddison sustained an ankle problem, leading to both players being substituted before the halftime whistle.

To add to the already chaotic proceedings, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson had a fourth goal disallowed for offside. However, the drama didn’t end there. Spurs’ left-back Destiny Udogie received a second yellow card from referee Michael Oliver for a tough tackle on Raheem Sterling that was deemed excessive.

Even with two players sent off, Tottenham inexplicably opted to persist with a remarkably high defensive line. With just 15 minutes remaining, Chelsea finally managed to break through their resilient defense as Sterling burst forward and provided a straightforward finish for Jackson. The goal proved to be the decisive blow in a match filled with controversy and unexpected turns.

The fact that Tottenham managed to hold on for as long as they did with only nine players on the pitch was a testament to both Chelsea’s lack of clinical finishing and the sensational goalkeeping efforts of Guglielmo Vicario. But the game was far from over.

Spurs came agonizingly close to securing an incredible draw, with Eric Dier’s superb finish being narrowly ruled out for offside and Rodrigo Bentancur heading just wide after finding space in Chelsea’s defense from a late free kick.

In the end, the evening took a turn for the worse as Jackson found the back of the net twice in stoppage time, completing his hat-trick and ultimately making the scoreline more comfortable for the visiting team than the match itself had indicated.

At the conclusion of the tie, Spurs supporters showed their appreciation for the team’s valiant efforts with a rousing reception. But beyond the immediate disappointment of the defeat, Tottenham now faces the prospect of enduring long-term ramifications from the chaos that unfolded.

The suspensions of Romero and Udogie will undoubtedly impact the team’s future fixtures, while the injuries sustained by Van de Ven and Maddison add further complications to the club’s plans moving forward.

But for now, after a rollercoaster of a match that featured an astonishing nine VAR checks, five goals disallowed, two injuries, two red cards, a remarkable hat trick, and a penalty, there is a collective sigh of relief in the air. Finally.

Bleak Future to a Certified Lawyer; Detailed Profile of Lawyer Kwadwo Ofori Dankwah, Esq.

0

Kwadwo Ofori Dankwah, Esq. is the Managing Director of Buffalo Oil Company Limited, a company incorporated in Ghana and licensed by the National Petroleum Authority to deal with sale, import and allied services in the petroleum downstream sector.

“Growing up in a broken home was not an easy and exciting journey. You visit friends and happily see vividly how they are happy with their parents and playing around with them.

“Indeed that alone made me realize the future indeed is bleak and to achieve my future goals vanished as no one was ready to hear me out. I never had a situation where my parents would ask “what do you want to become when you grow up” for me to even have my wish and dream heard.

“However, l did not relent but soldier on in life. I had to fend for myself by indulging in all kinds of child labor. Pushing trucks to fetch water for people, following friends to carry loads (goods) from trucks and taking peanuts to support and survive with it. I saw myself settling down with all kinds of improper and unprofessional jobs and that was the point l sensed my dream was cut short and had to settle for less.

“To believe in yourself and push yourself and hope against hope, is not an easy task. To see your classmates sailing through while you are on the streets after senior secondary school, doing construction and menial jobs was a test for me but I never gave up.

“In Ryan Shupe and Rubber Band’s song Dream Big, I really and truly changed my whole being by believing in myself and keeping my hopes high. “When you cry be sure, to dry your eyes cause better days are sure to come” sparked my turning point.

“Through God, planning, dedication, focus, self-motivation, perseverance and hard work, I have seen positivity in my life. To become a lawyer is the work of God. I am a lesson to someone and God indeed wanted it to be this way to enable me to tell a story one day.

“One lesson l learnt is “when you walk with pride, don’t show the hurt inside, because the pain will soon be gone”. Life doesn’t have a formula but we can change to suit ourselves,” he said.

Teni opens up on her ‘life-threatening’ health condition

Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has revealed how she was diagnosed with a life-threatening throat infection.

Teni made this heartbreaking revelation during the process of producing her second album, “Tears of the Sun”, she was afflicted with a potentially fatal throat infection. This occurred just a few months after she opened up to her fans about her weight-loss journey.

She disclosed that following several episodes of transient voice loss, medical professionals recommended a major operation to avoid the possibility of irreversible voice loss.

Teni was, however, hospitalized in September after repeated cases of exhaustion. Without doing the surgery but undergoing treatment, Teni shared a clip of her journey, which showed her in the hospital.

Towards the end of the clip, the singer assured her fans that her new album, “Tears Of The Sun”, is heartfelt and would be out on the 17th of this month. She added that one of her singles “Malaika” is her song of gratitude to God.

She captioned the post:

“TESTIMONY TIME 🌞. WHEN YOU FINALLY GET TO HEAR THIS ALBUM, I WANT YOU TO LISTEN FROM YOUR HEART, EMBRACE IT WITH YOUR SOUL AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW, THAT I GAVE IT MY ALL, AND SPOKE MY TRUTH, STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART, AGAINST ALL ODDS. TEARS OF THE SUN 🌞 “

A heartbreaking statement from the family of actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu has disclosed that one of his legs has been amputated to keep him alive.

Recall that the multiple award-winning veteran comic actor was ill and required financial assistance to aid in his treatment.

In the statement shared on Monday, November 6, via the actor’s Instagram page revealed he had undergone seven successful surgeries, including the amputation of one leg, in a bid to keep him alive.

The statement read, “Good afternoon, Nigerians. We want to appreciate everyone who has come through for our dad; saying we are grateful is an understatement, and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you’ve rendered.

“As of 1 pm, noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries, but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated.

“This development has been hard on us all, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.

“Please, we are still soliciting support from well-meaning Nigerians as, at this stage, Daddy is still very delicate, and he needs all the help he can get.

“Thank you, everyone, the Okafor family is grateful and we don’t take you for granted. In due time, Daddy will personally acknowledge everyone who supported him during this period as soon as he’s stable.”

Video: Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell passionately kiss in public amidst divorce rumours

0

Renowned Ghanaian actress and TV personality, Nana Ama McBrown has set the records straight, as far as rumours of her marriage being on the verge of collapse were rife in the public domain at some point in time.

Personalities in the entertainment industry were critical of her marriage being in jeopardy because she had divorced earlier before marrying her current husband, Maxwell Mensah.

In a video shared on social media, McBrown and her husband were captured passionately kissing at a live band event.

Musician, Efya, was singing one of her songs ‘One Of Your Own’ which most people were enthused about.

McBrown drew closer to Maxwell and stared at him in the eyes for a while before edging closer to kiss him passionately while Efya was performing that song.

The video seemed to establish that McBrown’s marriage is safe as she claimed earlier and rubbished the divorce reports.

Recall that, Mcbrown broke the silence on the rumours surrounding her marriage during a discussion on Hitz FM with host Andy Dosty, she established that contrary to the popular assertion that she and her husband are separated, they are still together and extremely happy at home.

“I am happy at home. We are happy. Extremely happy. It’s not even about what they are saying. My husband and I are cool, we are fine. So, there is no need to keep talking about this in public,” she said.

Lady arrested for selling book on how to scam a sugar daddy

0

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for selling books on how to scam sugar daddies, but 2,000 copies of her book had already been bought.

Mai Watanabe from Nagoya, Japan claimed to be an expert in swindling men, so she decided to put her expertise in a book to guide other young women.

Some of the titles of her books, which she posted on her social media handles read: “Textbook for Sugar Babies: The Right Profile and Magical Words to Make Men Pay.”

The books talked about how to approach middle-aged men who are deemed vulnerable to extract as much money as possible.

One of the books asked users to tell their sugar daddies that they had a difficult upbringing to win their compassion and get money.

Fabricating a story about being sick and unable to work, saying they desperately needed assistance with rent payments was another strategy in the books.

Watanabe began selling her scamming instructions last year, allegedly for between 10,000 and 20,000 yen ($67 and $134), with exclusive lessons available for an extra charge, according to sources from the Naka Police Department.

Reports say police launched an investigation into the activities of Watanabe after arresting a 20-year-old woman who allegedly defrauded two men in Aichi Prefecture of a total of 10.65 million yen ($72,000) using tactics from Watanabe’s books.

The suspect, known online as “Itadakijoshi Riri-chan (Riri the Sugar Baby),” turned out to be an experienced paid dating expert. She was accused of stealing 27 million yen (roughly $182,500) from a 50-year-old man in September, according to a report in the Japanese newspaper The Mainichi.

She allegedly told the man that she had borrowed money from a friend to open her clothing store and that she would have to sell her body at a brothel to repay the loan.

New charges against her were published by The Mainichi last month following an accusation by a 54-year-old man that he had sent Riri, the Sugar Baby a total of nearly 117 million yen, an equivalent of $780,000. The victim believed that his scammer used guidelines from Watanabe’s books

Rev. Owusu Bempah speaks after Bawumia’s victory with spiritual revelation

0

Political Prophet Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has broken silence following the victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.

The NPP primaries came to an end on Saturday, November 4, 2023, with Bawumia obtaining 118,210 votes representing 61.47%, beating his main contender Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a Member of Parliament for Assin Central who obtained 71,996 votes representing 37.41%.

On Sunday 5th November 2023, the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International ministered in his church touching on the outcome of the NPP primaries.

He said Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is yet to be accepted in the spiritual realm.

“Yesterday NPP delegates decided on vice president. They have chosen him but Ghana’s spirit has not confirmed him yet. Spiritual realm not confirmed,” he said.

“Some things have been confirmed. Other things are not confirmed. So, still, he has work to do. If he wants to lead Ghana, he has a lot of work to do. He shouldn’t get carried away by the victory. He has a lot of physical and spiritual work to do. The spirits at the four corners of Ghana are yet to decide. They decide before humans vote to manifest it,” the pastor explained.

Rev. Owusu Bempah revealed that the next president of Ghana will come to his pulpit to testify.

“It is not only about spiritual; a physical person is also involved… The one to sit on the throne will be here to testify,” he announced.
