Joyce Blessing claims that as a way of saying thank you to Kuami Eugene, she hugged him for 30 minutes when she met him in his studio and heard the song.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, Joyce Blessings narrated that she was startled at how much effort Kuami Eugene had put into writing the song.

She also added that there are other artistes who write songs for their colleagues and take money yet Kuami Eugene took nothing from her; neither for writing nor for the direction of the music video.

“When I got there and listened to the song, in fact, I began to cry because the song touched my heart and I hugged him for 30 minutes. I was so impressed with what he did because I know it’s not easy for an artist to write a song for another colleague artist and so I felt really grateful how he even gave me the song without taking revenue and other things,” she said.

Taylor Swift targeted to make $4.1 billion from Eras tour

0

American pop singer, Taylor Swift is projected to rake in $4.1 billion from her popular “Eras” tour.

This means that Taylor now owns the most lucrative concert tour in U.S. history and will also not be lining just her pockets, but also boosting the American economy.

Taylor’s multi-billion dollar windfall is an estimate from Peter Cohan, who teaches MBA students at Babson College in Massachusetts. He says he crunched the numbers for The Washington Post, and came out with some astounding figures.

Taylor’s estimated cut would be larger than the yearly economic output of 42 countries, and a $4.1 billion profit is also enough to send every American a little more than $17.

Taylor will be making most of her money from ticket sales and her highly-coveted merch, while hotels in cities where the “Eras” tour stops will be adding $208 million to their coffers, and that’s only counting the actual night of the concerts. Realistically, most fans stay at least one extra day.

The economic impact of the “Eras” tour is huge too. For instance, her 6 shows at SoFi Stadium in L.A. injected $320 million into the county’s economy, while her Denver shows resulted in a $140 million boost and her Kansas City and Cincinnati stops brought in $48 million to each of those cities.

The singer is already sharing her wealth. She recently gave out over $50 million in total bonuses to her concert crew, and gave every truck driver hauling her tour equipment around the country an extra $100k.

She might also earn more from her ‘Eras Tour’ concert movie which has a huge demand in theaters, with the movie presale eclipsing $100 million worldwide.

Corruption fight: Let’s search homes of all ministers – Martin Kpebu

0

Private Legal Practitioner, Martin Kpebu has called for the homes of all ministers and government appointees to be searched as part of the fight against corruption.

Speaking on the case of former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah on the Big Issue on Citi FM on Saturday, the outspoken lawyer said searching the homes of government officials would send a strong message that the government is serious about fighting corruption.

“Let’s search the officers at the Jubilee House, let’s search the Ministers, let’s search them…the monies are in their homes. If we don’t do this we are not fighting corruption. If we don’t search all the ministers forget it we are just playing.”

Martin Kpebu’s call comes after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) found $590,000 and GH¢2.7 million in cash during a search of the home of the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah. The money is suspected to be tainted property.

The OSP has commenced investigations into the matter, and Cecilia Dapaah has been charged with money laundering and other corruption-related offences.

Mr Kpebu defended his call, saying it is necessary to send a strong message that the government is serious about fighting corruption.

“Let’s search them all of them,” Mr Kpebu said, “But we are men and we need to fight like men otherwise let’s forget about the corruption fight.”

0

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Reggae-Dancehall icon Andrew Samini popularly known as Samini has disclosed that he is not going to be a “fool” again to campaign for the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in 2024 as he did in the 20020 election.

Ghana goes to polls on December 7, 2024, and some celebrities have started debating on the party they are going to endorse, campaign, or vote for in the upcoming elections.

Samini has stated that he is not going to repeat what he did in 2020 when he threw his support behind President Nana Addo.

According to Samini in a recent interview, the main reason why he campaigned for President Nana Addo was because he believed in the ideologies and wanted Nana Addo to fulfil the manifesto of his party.

“My Own” crooner added that this motivated him and his colleagues to campaign for the NPP ahead of the 2020 General elections.

“Things like free SHS, one district one dam (1D1D), one district one factory (1D1F) for the farmers. I was more interested about the factories because I come from the North and the numbers we have over there if you have factories that can employ people,” he said.

He said that not enough effort has been made into the music industry compared to what was promised to him during the 2020 campaign when asked if he would continue to campaign for the NPP in 2024.

Shatta Wale hot as alleged baby mama drags him to court for neglecting their child

0

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has found himself in legal trouble after his UK-based baby mama dragged him to court for allegedly neglecting his fatherhood duties.

The case stems from an alleged encounter Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armarh Jnr had with a UK-based Ghanaian woman, resulting in a pregnancy.

Reportedly, in February 2022, the “On God” hit crooner allegedly invited the woman to his home, where they engaged in unprotected intercourse. Approximately nine months later, the woman gave birth, which she claims is Shatta Wale’s child.

However, Shatta Wale has purportedly refused to acknowledge or provide for the child, largely due to his new relationship with Maali, who allegedly comes from a rich and respectable home and although they might be willing to overlook some of Shatta Wale’s distasteful behaviour in the showbiz, they would not look too kindly on him impregnating girls left and right.

The baby mama, unhappy with Shatta Wale’s actions, decided to take legal action against him to ensure he fulfilled his responsibilities as a father.

She Gave Birth To Twins Before Getting To the Hospital. Good Samaritan Who Saw Her By Roadside Reveals

0

A Good Samaritan reveals how seeing a pregnant woman in distress along the roadside gave birth to twins in his car.

On my way to work this morning, I saw a pregnant woman standing by the road side, from the look on her face, she was in severe pain, ( labour pain ) .

She must have spent some time at the junction waiting for a taxi, but it seemed no taxi was willing to carry her in such a condition.

while she was in pain, some other women were comforting her, and the gathering of people caught my attention.

I drove past them, on a second thought, I reversed and offer to give her a lift to the hospital.

Why driving her to the hospital, she was restless, shouting and uncomfortable.

Honestly, I was dead scared. what will I tell people if anything goes wrong.

Her shouting became intense, before you could say madam, take it easy, She has given birth to a boy RIGHT IN MY CAR and she kept saying it’s remaining another one.

At this point, I don’t know if I should park or proceed to the hospital. But I was Dead. 😨😭

I had to muscle up all my safety training and first aid training to continue the journey, we arrived at the hospital safely, the nurses were very Swift in attending to her.

To the glory of God, within few minutes, she gave birth to the second boy.

The twins and the mother are doing very fine.

But me, am still in shock and dismay.

Each time I remembered how I drove , I just couldn’t hold back the tears that rush down from my eyes.

Thank you , Almighty God for using me for this woman and her twins babies.

Alan Cash snubs Akufo-Addo at Theresa Kufuor’s one-week

0

Former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremanten and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo snubbed each other during the one-week observation of the late ex-First Lady Theresa Kufour.

The 2024 Presidential hopeful for the newly formed independent party ‘Movement for Change’ and the President of Ghana failed to acknowledge the presence of each other at the funeral ceremony which took place at the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern region, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

The shocking moment was observed by Angel TV journalist, Nana Yaa Brefo who after speaking to the failed NPP presidential candidate, who resigned from the party said “President Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyeremanten are both leaving Theresa Kufuor’s one-week observation ceremony without exchanging pleasantries.”

Although the unexpected gestures of these prominent political figures remain unknown some observers have been swift to attribute the snub to the recent decision of Mr Kyeremanten to break away from the NPP and form his Movement for Change ahead of the 2024 elections.

Interestingly, there was a beautiful moment when Vice President, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and Mr. Kyerematen hugged and exchanged pleasantries.

Accompanied by his wife Samira Bawumia, the Vice President beaming with smiles shook hands with Alan before both patted each other on the back.

The statesmen were part of sympathisers that gathered at the Peduase residence of the ex-President to mourn the death of the late first lady.

Gambian woman remanded over alleged murder of Kikibites CEO after Police present findings on his death to court

0

The Madina District court has remanded 31-year-old Mam Yandey Joof to police custody, for the alleged murder of Bennette Agyekum Adomah, the Chief Executive Officer of Kikibees Restaurant and Lounge located at East Legon.

The 40-year-old man was alleged to have been murdered in the house of Joof, who is a hotelier and was Adomah’s girlfriend until the incident.

The plea by Mam Yandeh Joof was not taken by the court.

How it happened

Narrating the facts of the case to court, Inspector, Jameson Awumey said, the deceased (Agyekum Adomah) and the suspect (Mam Yandey Joof) were in an amorous relationship for the past three years.

About three months ago, the deceased travelled abroad and returned to Ghana on the evening of October 7, 2023, and went to his residence at East Legon from the Airport around 6.00 pm.

He continued that the deceased took some rest and later in the night around 8.00 pm, left the house to the Kikibees Restaurant and Lounge at East Legon.

At about 12.30 am on October 8, 2023, the deceased left the Kikibees restaurant to visit the suspect in her apartment at Ogbojo.

Later in the night at about 1.30 am the deceased suddenly became hyper and started behaving strangely and throwing things in the room while shouting that some people were chasing him.

The other tenants in the house were awoken by the noise.

The suspect rang the close friend of the deceased and informed him to come to her apartment to assist her but the friend came and found the deceased lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen throwing his hands about.

Inspector Awumey said the tenants in the house assisted them and took him to DEL Hospital at East Legon but he was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival.

The death was reported to the Police and the body was conveyed to the Police hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

During an inspection at the scene, pieces of broken ceramic glass with blood stains were found in the apartment.

The body was inspected and a cut was found on the left thumb of the deceased investigation is ongoing.

But the lawyer for the suspect, Muniru Kassim told the court his client is innocent and at the right time they will prove to court and the general public that she did not commit murder.

He said they would head to the High Court for bail for his client.

The court presided over by Mrs. Susana Nyakotey adjourned the case to October 27.
