IGP John Kudalor
Supt. Arthur (behind) wants Mr. John Kudalor himself to publicly announce the award

An honorary Doctorate Degree has been conferred on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor, by an unknown University based in the United States of America.

Information available to Onua FM’s Yen Sempa indicates that the ceremony took place yesterday [Monday] in the USA.

Although Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur confirmed the report, he would not be the one to reveal the identity of the university in question.

But he disclosed to Onua FM’s Yen Sempa that the IGP had told him he had been tipped to receive the award.

Supt Arthur however fell short of mentioning the name of the country the award took place, but admitted that Mr. Kudalor is outside the country.

Nonetheless, Supt. Arthur claimed he has seen pictures of the IGP receiving the award but he preferred to defer the announcement to the IGP himself.

Mr John Kudalor was confirmed as the substantive Inspector General of Police on the 18thFebruary this year.

In November, 2015, President Mahama appointed him in an acting position to succeed Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan.

Mr. Kudalor has 20 years wealth of experience in the police service and was in charge of monitoring in the 2012 general elections.
