Ghana’s Black Stars will begin the final round qualification to Russia 2018 with a date with the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Ghana was drawn in Group E at a special draw held in Cairo on Friday, June 24.

The Black Stars will also play Congo and Uganda in their quest for a fourth successive world cup appearance.

The draw sees African champions La Cote d’Ivoire also drawn to play former qualifiers Morocco, neighbours Mali and 2017 Africa Cup of Nation hosts Gabon.

Ghana’s fixture with Egypt will be a repeat of the 2014 world cup play-off in which the Stars qualified 7-3 on aggregate.

The Stars will also have fond memories with the Cranes of Uganda, having secured a maiden qualification to the world cup while in the same group with the East Africans.

The qualifiers are scheduled to be played between October 3, 2016 and November 14, 2017.
