Ghanaians are expressing dissatisfaction with Abena Kwantemaa cooking presentation in the marathon, where she aims to break the Guinness world record for the longest individual cooking time.
As of the early hours of Friday, February 23, 2024, she has logged an impressive 140 hours at Noks Hotel in Kumasi-Asokwa.
Some of her dishes have been shared on Facebook by Oyerepa TV, as part of promotional efforts. However, criticism centers on her plating, especially when compared to chefs like Faila and Chef Smith. Chef Smith, who started cooking on February 1 and is set to climax on March 6, has gained praise for his meal presentations.
Netizens describe Abena’s food as a school feeding program, suggesting she gracefully withdraw or hire better photographers.
Meanwhile, Executive Chef Faila awaits Guinness World Records’ verification after 227 hours, and Chef Smith has already surpassed 500 hours.
Irish Chef Alan Fisher still holds the record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
