Porsha Williams, known from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Simon Guobadia are divorcing after just over a year of marriage.
The divorce was filed in Atlanta, and while rumors about Guobadia’s citizen status circulate online, sources insist it’s unrelated to their split. The specific reasons for their separation are labeled as an “ongoing matter.”
The couple tied the knot in November 2022 in both a Nigerian traditional ceremony and an American ceremony in Atlanta. Williams and Guobadia announced their engagement in May 2021 after a brief month of dating.
Despite the divorce, Williams is set to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for its sixteenth season and has inked a scripted deal with NBCUniversal, expressing gratitude for their trust and looking forward to showcasing her “new world.”
Williams first joined RHOA in its fifth season and, after leaving in season 13, appeared with Guobadia on the Real Housewives spinoff Porsha’s Family Matters in 2021. She also starred in the third season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip last year.
