University of Energy & Natural Resources holds maiden graduation

The first ever graduation of the University of Energy and Natural Resources is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 18 at Fiapre in the Brong Ahafo Region.

About 160 graduands are expected to be awarded various degrees in the geosciences and agriculture technology after completing four years of studies.

The university is one of the two promised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2008 elections. The other is the University of Allied and Health Sciences in Ho, Volta Region.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources was inaugurated in 2012 by late President John Evans Atta Mills, who cut sod a year earlier for its establishment.

It was established by an Act of Parliament, Act 830.

Its motto is: ‘Knowledge, integrity and impact’.

Saturday’s graduation will honour students who completed their studies in May, 2016.

The guest of honour will be President John Dramani Mahama.
