Wizkid makes first public appearance after mother’s demise

Grammy-winning Nigerian afrobeats singer, Ayodeji Balogun, famously known as Wizkid made his first public appearance since his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away in London on August 18, 2023.

This tragic event which was confirmed by Wizkid’s manager Sunday Aare, led to Wizkid’s withdrawal from the public eye, including a hiatus from social media.

However, he returned to the public scene nearly a month later by appearing at the exclusive opening night private special viewing of “Gabrielle Chanel Fashion Manifesto” at the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum in London on Wednesday September 13, 2023.

He has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most stylish entertainers, often spotted in high-end designer clothes from brands like Dolce & Gabbana. His attendance at the Chanel event demonstrates his growing status as a global fashion icon.
