Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has demanded a retraction and apology from Accra-based radio Station Neat FM over unflattering comments made about her on their channel.
A letter from her lawyers Menka-Premo & Co, which KwasiAboagyeLive.com has sighted said statements made about her by a so-called slay queen, Mona Gucci were malicious and untrue.
On Monday, Neat FM’s Entertainment GH show, hosted Mona Gucci, who was to reveal the secret lives of slay queens in Ghana.
The host of the programme, Ola Michael, presented her with a list of names of supposed slay queens in Ghana and she either confirmed or denied if they were actually slay queens and how they made their money.
Mona Gucci labeled Yvonne Nelson as a slay queen who has been sleeping with men in Ghana and Nigeria for financial rewards and insinuated that the actress has been whoring for a living.
Obviously unhappy with Mona’s claims, Yvonne got her lawyers to write to the management of Neat FM asking them to retract and apologize to her.
The lawyers stated that their client, Yvonne Nelson is an upstanding member of society, with a highly built reputation as a distinguished actress in this country.
They said it is unfortunate and offensive for a radio station like Neat FM to offer their platform for Mona Gucci to deliberately attack the character and well-earned business reputation of their client.
Before Yvonne Nelson’s letter, Ola Michael had already issued a statement apologising to all those whose names were mentioned on the show. He even apologized on air the following day.
Newscaster Nana Aba Anamoah, who Mona Gucci said was the mother of all the slay queens, reacted, saying she had accepted the apology and forgiven Neat FM and Ola Michael.
She, however, threatened to take legal action against any media house that would seek to tarnish her image.
