Chef Smith Concludes Cook-a-Thon with Impressive 820 Hours

Chef Smith, also known as Millennium Chef, concluded his extensive cooking marathon today, March 6, 2024.

The impressive culinary journey lasted for 820 hours, 25 minutes, 6 seconds, and 278 milliseconds, starting on February 1 at the Amadia Shopping Center in Spintex, Accra.

Although the initial intention was to finish the marathon after 360 hours, equivalent to 15 days, Chef Smith’s culinary skill enabled him to extend the event throughout the entire month of February.

The closing festivities include an after party at 6pm today, coinciding with Ghana’s Independence Day celebration. Throughout the marathon, Chef Smith garnered support from various notable figures and individuals, fostering a steadily growing support base. The inspiration for this culinary feat traces back to Hilda Baci’s record-breaking cooking marathon.

To enhance the experience, engaging events such as musical chairs, dance battles, live match streaming, music performances by celebrities, and a fashion show were organized, attracting a diverse audience and keeping them entertained. Despite initial challenges gaining approval for the event, Chef Smith’s determination prevailed, and the goal is to maintain a vibrant atmosphere throughout the culinary endeavor.

Chef Smith’s journey faced obstacles in gaining event approval, eventually moving to February 2024 after unsuccessful attempts in July and September 2023. Currently, Chef Alan Fisher holds the record at 119 hours and 57 minutes, as Chef Faila’s attempt has not been successful.
