Kasoa end of N1 to be closed to traffic on Sunday evening

Contractors working on the Kasoa Interchange have announced that the main road passing through the interchange would be closed to traffic in the evening for two-weeks.

According to Queiroz Galvāo Construction, the road would be closed between 10pm and 5am starting from today.

“The closure will start on Sunday, 10th July 2016 and continue for a period of two weeks and it is likely to end on 23rd July 2016,” the Project Manager said in a statement on Saturday.

The closure would enable the contractor to lift into place the steel beams for the construction of the bridge, the statement noted.

“The main diversion route for drivers on the N1 is the New Kasoa Western Bypass that starts in the East (Accra side) after the Tuba Toll Booth, and on the West (Winneba side) about 1500m from Budumburam (Liberia camp)

“Drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic diversion signs placed at vantage points on the networks to find alternative routes for their travels.”
