President John Dramani Mahama has donated GH¢5,000 to Kumawood actor Wayosi, who is on dialysis at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for kidney failure.

President Mahama sent the money through the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, who had to deliver it through the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG).

Wayosi, whose real name is Joseph Nana Osei, since being diagnosed with kidney has won the sympathy of many.

Social media was agog with messages of sympathy for him especially when it emerged that the death reports about him were false.

President Mahama’s donation was duly given to the actor.

“The president gave the money to the Creative Art ministry,” confirmed Michael Kwaku Ola, who is the Public Relations Officer of FIPAG.

Michael Kwaku Ola was speaking to Onua FM’s Emmanuel Agyemang on Friday, August 5.

“The minister couldn’t come, so myself and other colleagues in the film industry made the donation on their behalf.”
