Revealed! This is why you should sleep naked

0
Sleep sex This might sound a little naughty, but bear with us here. You need to ditch your pajamas and start sleeping in your birthday suit. What’s that, you say?
According to numerous scientific studies, the health benefits of sleeping naked are too many and far-reaching to ignore. From improved hormonal balance to less belly fat and more sex, you really need to make it a habit of sleeping nude. Only 10% of Americans sleep in the nude, according to one survey. That is probably typical of most other countries of the world, and it should change. Here’s why sleeping naked is so much better for you: 1. You’ll slow down the signs of aging and look more beautiful and youthful. Sleeping naked in a room maintained at a temperature no higher than 70˚F (21˚C) stimulates the release of the anti-aging hormone called melatonin and the growth hormone in the body. The release of these hormones can improve athletic performance, according to a 2012 study published in the journal Sleep. The hormones work better at lower room temperatures by allowing the body to regenerate, resulting in better skin and hair. A sleep environment that is too hot will not allow the body to naturally cool itself and can disrupt the release of these hormones. 2. You’ll feel happier and more stress-free. That’s because sleeping naked boosts the release of oxytocin. Oxytocin (also called the “love hormone”) is a powerful feel-good hormone that is involved in orgasm and sexual responsiveness, combating stress and depression, reducing intestinal inflammation by improving gut motility, and blood pressure reduction. So, if you and your partner are sleeping in your birthday suits, skin to skin touching can boost your oxytocin levels, trigger sexual desire and of course lead to more intimate moments with your partner. In fact, a survey from Cotton USA has found that couples who sleep in the nude are happier than their clothed and PJ’d counterparts. 3. You’ll get better quality of sleep. An Australian study found that some forms of insomnia can be provoked by improper body temperature regulation at night. Another study showed that the regulation of in-bed body temperature could significantly help in improving sleep quality and reaching deeper slumber. In one particular study, Dutch scientists placed thermosuits on participants in order to lower their skin temperatures without affecting core body temperature. The researchers found that participants had an uninterrupted sleep and spent more time in the deep sleep stages as a result. Sleeping naked can positively affect your sleep quality. 4. You’ll lower your cortisol levels and maintain healthy body composition. Poor or no sleep is associated with the release of cortisol, or the so-called stress hormone, as well as hunger hormones that can trigger our appetite for comfort foods and thus lead to overeating. Lack of a good night’s sleep is also related to less active production of the fat-burning and appetite-controlling hormones. Specifically, researchers at the University of Warwick found that those who sleep less than six hours are three times more likely to develop diabetes and heart disease and, therefore, unwanted weight gain. Because sleeping naked helps you get deeper sleep and keeps your body temperature at the optimal ranges, your body is better able to regulate cortisol. That, in turn, helps to combat belly fat and general weight gain, thereby ensuring you maintain a healthy body composition. 5. You’ll boost your immune system. Moreover, increased oxytocin and reduced cortisol levels – both previously mentioned – contribute to a more robust immune system. Keeping these important chemicals at their optimal amounts in your body’s ecosystem by sleeping naked means giving yourself the best shot at fending off germs, viruses and other disease-causing organisms. 6. You’ll protect your lady parts from infections. Ladies, it’s always best to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to your health down there. As you probably already know, bacteria thrive in warm, moist environments, especially in women prone to vaginal infections. Nicole Prause, an Associate Research Scientist at the University of California Los Angeles, speaking to Medical Daily revealed that, “Sleeping naked would reduce the ability of those (always-present) bacteria to overwhelm the normal healthy vaginal flora.” The vagina will get more ventilation, when you sleep naked, increasing its ability to stay dry and reducing the probability of fungal infection. 7. You’ll increase your virility. This applies to men. Gentlemen, sleeping naked has been found to increase virility by keeping the testes cooler, which is why the testes are located outside of the body in the first place. When you wear tight briefs and cover up with heavy blankets, the testes heat up and lower your sperm count. You really don’t want that, do you? Of course, you don’t. Ditch the sleepwear and start sleeping naked today to enjoy these totally amazing health benefits. Source Lifehack

Fennec Otchere was brutally murdered in his home at Spintex on March 13, 2014 by unknown assailants. Even though the late Fennec was involved in a lot of businesses he was popularly known in the music industry as one of the few who always spoke their mind and the hard truth when it comes to the entertainment industry. In an exclusive interview with TV3network.com an emotional Kwaw Kesse was quick to commend the police service for the good job done in arresting the suspected killer of the former legislator. He therefore tasked them to do same for his late manager – Fennec. “I think my manager’s case has not been dealt with the way the late MP’s case has been dealt with. “I want to ask the police if it’s because my manger was not an MP,” he enquired. “This is a man who was doing great with what he was doing in his field of work and as matter of fact a loyal Ghanaian” Kwaw Kesse added. “If a Ghanaian is being murdered and up till date there hasn’t been any clue, then I would say the security system is being biased”. “Recently there was news on somebody saying another person threatened to kill him like he killed the other person and I think that was a big clue the police should have jumped on to thoroughly investigate that person and found out why he said that but nothing came,” the artiste pointed out. The award-winning musician reiterated, “To me I think the police are being biased and I don’t think you should be a member of parliament, a minister, or somebody working for the government before they can deal our cases for us”. “I still pray and hope that the truth will come out and I am urging the police to use similar tactics to give us some answers to my manager’s killers”. The informant who gave the Greater Accra Regional Police Command the information that led to the arrest of the suspected killer of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North has disclosed how helped the police to arrest the suspect at his hideout in Accra.
The MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was murdered in cold blood at his private residence in Accra Tuesday dawn whilst he was asleep. The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service with support from the Regional Police Command began a swift investigation into the homicide. Subsequently, Daniel Asiedu, a 20-year-old ex-convict was allegedly arrested in a dawn operation led by the Accra Regional Police Commander, COP Dr George A. Dampare, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Old Fadama (Sodom and Gomorra) in Accra. The informant (name withheld) told Onua FM’s morning show Yensempa on Friday that “I work to help Ghana and on Wednesday I had a call from the Greater Accra Police Commander, COP Dampare that he was looking for the said man. I told him if that is the man he is looking for, then I know where he is”. He said “I gave them information and as I am speaking, the Police Commander is calling me after the arrest so let me speak to him and come back to you”, he told Onua FM’s Yensempa producer, Kweku Antwi-Otoo. The informant later explained that the police have asked him not to speak again to the media for now since investigation is ongoing.   By Kweku Antwi-Otoo/Onua FM /tv3network.com

Woyome turns to international arbitration on GHC51.2 judgement debt

Businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, has resolved to seek international arbitration regarding the GH¢51.2 million judgment debt, which the Supreme Court has asked him to refund.
He gave the hint of his latest move on Thursday after the Supreme Court dismissed an application by one Abdulai Yusif Fanash Muhammed who had filed an application to contest the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction over the case. Muhammed had prayed the court to declare that the financial engineering claims by Mr Woyome arising out of the tender bid by Vamed Engineering GmbH/Waterville Holdings during the procurement process in June 2005 until its wrongful abrogation in August 2005 was not an international business transaction within the meaning of Article 181 of the 1992 Constitution. Counsel for Mr Woyome, Ken Anku who spoke to Graphic Online’s Seth J. Bokpe said even though Muhammed’s case would have inured to the benefit of Mr Woyome, he was not the one who initiated it contrary to arguments that the suit by Muhammed was spearheaded by Mr Woyome. “The action at the Supreme Court was not commenced by Alfred Agbesi Woyome. We were only brought in as defendants and the plaintiff withdrew his action so we also withdraw our action,” he maintained. Mr Anku explained that “this is not the end of the case” as his client in the next couple of days would head to the International Chamber of Commerce to argue out his case that the contract that was terminated by the Kufuor administration was not an international contract, contrary to the Supreme Court’s stance since there was no Parliamentary approval, there was no contract. “My client has always maintained the position that the two contracts that were terminated by Kufuor were not what he went to court to seek for payment,” he said. The Supreme Court in July 2014 ordered Mr Woyome to refund GH¢51.2 million to the state on the grounds that he got the money out of unconstitutional and invalid contracts between the state and Waterville Holdings Limited in 2006 for the construction of stadia for CAN 2008. ‘You’re not important than others’ – MPs told over Police bodyguards issue

0
Parliament The Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Braimah, has disapproved the request for personal Police protection for the country’s legislators describing it as self-centred.
Some Members of Parliament on Tuesday renewed calls for them to be given special personal Police protection both within and outside the House amid what they say are the recent attacks on their lives. Their request was triggered by Tuesday’s murder of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, JB Dankwa Adu, in his residence at Shiashie, Accra. The MPs have argued a number of their colleagues including Benita Owusu-Bio, Gifty Klenam, and Robert Sarfo have been attacked in their homes in recent times; a situation that raises security concerns among MPs. But some critics say the legislators should rather focus on the bigger problem and use their influence to push for better security for all Ghanaians as against themselves. “MPs occupy an important position and do important work. Yes, no doubt. But as citizens, their lives are not important than others. All Lives Matter!!!,” Mr Braimah stated in a Facebook post He argued that it was important for the MPs to use their important positions to get the government to prioritise security for Ghanaians in general by influencing a doubling or tripling of the annual budget for the Police. That, he believes, “will help increase the number of police officers, better train them, increase police posts, visibility and proximity, provide the police with necessary logistics”. For him, personal Police for the MPs will in no way guarantee their safety, contending that the Police personnel themselves are not safe in the country considering the recent attacks on some of them by criminals. “Having a police guard does not guarantee security when the police themselves are not safe. We have had recent developments where police officers have been shot dead by criminals. What matters is improved overall security for all,” he said. He rather urged the lawmakers to use the sort of zeal and efforts they put into their campaigns to put the Police and security agencies under pressure to perform. Google takes wider action on ‘right to be forgotten’

0
Tech giant Google says it will hide content removed under the “right to be forgotten” from all versions of the search engine when viewed from countries where removal was approved. Google_Schimdt Under the “right to be forgotten” ruling, EU citizens may ask search engines to remove information about them. Now, removed results will not appear on any version of Google. EU privacy regulators previously asked the firm to do this. Until now, search results removed under the “right to be forgotten” were only omitted from European versions of Google – such as google.co.uk or google.fr. The French data protection authority had threatened the company with a fine if it did not remove the data from global sites – such as google.com – as well as European ones like. This filtering will be applied whenever a European IP address is detected – so users outside the country where the removal request is filed, and indeed all users outside Europe, will still see a set of unedited results. The BBC understands that the change will be in effect from mid-February. Source:BBC

Legal breakthrough for Google’s driverless car

0
google car Google’s self-driving car system could soon be given the same legal definition as a human driver, paving the way for vehicles without steering wheels or pedals. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) – which sets rules and regulations on America’s roads – shared its thoughts in a letter to Google made public this week. Until now, any car without a human driver would not be considered roadworthy. However, in light of technological advancements, the NHTSA has changed its perspective. “If no human occupant of the vehicle can actually drive the vehicle, it is more reasonable to identify the driver as whatever (as opposed to whoever) is doing the driving,” it said. “In this instance, an item of motor vehicle equipment, the Self-Driving System, is actually driving the vehicle.” Google boost It means Google’s self-driving pod, which has no typical in-car controls, is one crucial step closer to being allowed on public roads. With the NHTSA’s blessing, the car now fits the key criteria required to pass the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards test. It’s the latest regulatory boost for Google after the US government announced in January a $4bn plan to create nationwide regulations for self-driving cars. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said the initiative would provide consistency between states. It followed an announcement by the Californian Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) that said cars absolutely did need a driver – a ruling Google described as “perplexing”. Source:BBC

Facebook hit by French privacy order

0
Facebook has been given three months to stop tracking non-members of its social network without their consent in France. Last year, it made changes to the way the site is viewed in Belgium following a similar order from the Belgian Privacy Commissioner. The French data protection body also demanded stronger password complexity, requiring at least eight characters rather than the existing six. Facebook said privacy was its priority. “Protecting the privacy of the people who use Facebook is at the heart of everything we do. We… look forward to engaging with the CNIL [French data protection authority – Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertes] to respond to their concerns,” a spokeswoman said. The social network tracks everyone who visits the site, regardless of whether they are members, by installing cookies – small text files which gather information about web activity. The type used by Facebook, known as datr, can last for two years. In Belgium, visitors to the site must now log on before they can view any pages. The CNIL also told the firm to cease the transfer of some personal data to the US, as the Safe Harbour agreement has ended. Facebook has repeatedly stated that it uses other legal contracts to transfer data to the US. The agreement, which enabled the transfer of data between the EU and US, was ruled invalid in October 2015, and while a new pact has been drawn up, it is not yet operational. If Facebook fails to comply with the French privacy body within the three-month time frame it may face a fine, Reuters reported. Source:BBC

Police shoot police in DCOP Kofi Boakye’s residence

DCOP Kofi Boakye A police officer on duty at the residence of the Ashanti regional police commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye has shot another police officer after an altercation.
Confirming the report to TV3 news, Ashanti regional police PRO, ASP Mohammed Tanko said “a constable went to the regional commanders’ house around 5:45pm on Monday requesting to have audience with the commander. “Policeman on guard at the commanders residence told him the commander had not returned from the office so there was no way he could see him. The constable didn’t believe him, he took offence and attacked him (officer on duty). “He attempted taking the weapon of the officer on guard who managed to ward him off. The struggle to get the weapon went on for a while and the officer on duty shot him in the knee preventing him from further attack.” The constable has been rushed to the hospital and is receiving treatment. Meanwhile the regional police PRO is alleging that the constable “may be suffering from some mental derailment hence the unwarranted attack” but was quick to add that “since we are not medics, we are waiting to see what the doctors would say about his mental condition.” By Martin Asiedu-Dartey|tv3network.com|Ghana Twitter: @NewsyMartin
