Speak up; Ghana facing imminent danger – Nyaho-Tamakloe to clergy, Kufuor

0

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged former leaders and religious figures to express concerns regarding the precarious state of Ghana.

Addressing an anti-corruption forum held at the forecourt of the Asogli Palace, in conjunction with this year’s Asogli Yam Festival and the 20th Celebration of the Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV, the paramount chief of the Asogli State, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said that the nation is currently facing imminent danger.

He emphasized that the failure of some leaders to speak out is steering the country towards a catastrophe.

He called on former President J. A. Kufuor, to express his views on the happenings in the country.

He further stated that in situations where a civilian government neglects its duty of being accountable to its citizens, it should anticipate removal through the electoral process.

“The chiefs of this country, we have the national house of chiefs, they have been quiet and I warn them that we are facing a great danger. I would like to bring to the attention of former President J. A Kufuor, that is time to talk. He’s too silent, his refusal to talk is leading the country to a disaster.

“It appears the nation is not in charge by the President [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo]. This country is facing danger, if you just take a look at what the EC is doing, the signals are there. I know what coup d’etats are. No soldier likes a coup, but when the civilian government fails to be accountable and honest to the people, then he’s called for a removal through the ballot box. Ghana is leading to a great disaster if anyone changes any figures in the 2024 polls.

“Most Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle, the Chief Imam Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, are the people who should start singing about the danger that is now facing the country. They have all failed to talk. I call also on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, they should all be watching and be careful. If the nation falls into any disaster, the blood of the people will be on your hands”.

During the same event, Mensah Thompson, the Director of ASEPA, highlighted the country’s predicament, noting that many institutions have fallen into a state of dormancy.

Video: Doctor gives account why “fresh blood” was found in late Mohbad’s grave after he was exhumed

0

Popular Nigerian doctor on Twitter, Aproko Doctor has given possible reasons why ‘fresh blood’ was found in the grave of late singer, Mohbad, after it was exhumed on Thursaday, September 21.

Some Nigerians who visited the grave after his body was exhumed claimed they found fresh blood in it.

They recorded videos and posted them online, they wondered if it is possible for fresh blood to still be found inside a grave eight days after a person has been buried.

Aproko Doctor have a possible reason why fresh blood could be found inside a grave. He wrote

‘’Your blood has a red colour because of a compound called haemoglobin. That’s what carries oxygen through your body

When blood is exposed to air, the cells that carry these haemoglobin die, and the haemoglobin becomes exposed to air abs starts to change colour to a darker one.

This dark colour is because the haemoglobin is being changed to another compound called methemoglobin.

Normally, when people die, they die with all the blood in their system, but it doesn’t move because circulation has stopped, but it’s still there. Let’s not forget.

Now, during embalming, this blood is usually replaced with another fluid. The question is, “Was he embalmed?”

Even at that, you can’t get all the blood out! Some will still be left.

We all want to know why it’s still red, right? There is one possible reason, in a closed compartment, there is very little air underground, so it’s possible that the haemoglobin is not exposed enough to change colour to the darker one.

As to why it’s that much, we don’t have access to the body so we don’t know what other injuries we’re inflicted on his body, we remember his neck was in an unnatural position to fit in the coffin, it is possible that must have broken his vessels to cause some blood still in the system to leak out.

All we can do is speculate. We will not be more knowledgeable than people with the body physically and examining it.”

Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has expressed his disapproval of the arrest of about 50 protesters who participated in the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration on Tuesday, September 21, 2023.

The demonstration, organized by the #FixtheCountry movement, aimed to demand a range of reforms, including a reduction in the cost of living, an end to corruption, and improved governance.

The police had filed an application for an injunction seeking to prohibit the protest from moving forth, citing security concerns and COVID-19 protocols. However, the organizers went ahead with the demonstration despite the warnings from the police.

According to eyewitnesses, some police were either in disguised clothing, in their everyday uniform or in riot control gear, while others were on horses, and in buses and pickups arresting protesters, who were mostly clad in black and red. Among those who were arrested were some prominent activists such as the #FixtheCountry convener, Oliver Barker Vormawor and journalist Bridget Otoo. Some have accused the police of being puppets of the ruling elite and of using illegal ways to disrupt the peaceful protest. Some have also questioned the police’s motive for using horses and riot control gear against unarmed civilians.

The #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration was part of a series of protests that have been organized by the #FixtheCountry movement since May 2023. The movement has been calling for better living conditions and accountability from the government. Furthering my tertiary education to fulfill a promise I made to my late father – Amerado

0

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, popularly known as Amerado has disclosed that he pursuing his tertiary education to fulfil the promise he made to his dear father and that’s one of the many reasons why he decided to further his education by enrolling is the University of Ghana, Legon.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the reigning VGMA Best Rapper of the Year had gained admission to the University of Ghana, Legon to pursue a Political Science degree.

In an interview with MC Yaa Yeboah on Bryt Extra, an entertainment show hosted on Bryt TV, the rapper disclosed that he decided to go back to school to fulfill a promise he made to his late father.

He further stated that he lost his father shortly after he went to Senior High School (SHS) and therefore, when he got to know his father was sick, he made a promise to him that no matter the number of years it would take him to further his education, he will go to school.

“I made a promise to my late father that I will go back to school no matter what time it takes me. This is because, he died after I enrolled in SHS and when I realized, he was sick, I gave him my word. He once said among his children, I am the most brilliant child so I decided not to let him down when it comes to studying”.

“When my father was alive, he fulfilled every promise he made to me, and with that, one thing I have come to understand is that if ghosts truly exist, then I have to also fulfill my promise to him so he would feel okay wherever he is”, Amerado told the host.

Amerado, however, clarified that going back to the tertiary was going to give him the knowledge he required. Most importantly for his music business, being in the university will also build his fanbase.

“Then again I needed the knowledge to build me as a young champ. The third reason is to build an audience in there because people in the university are a lot and not all artiste get the chance to be closer to them.

One way to be closer to them is to be one of them. So I took advantage of me having a good certificate, bought my forms to go in there to study and gather my fan base,” he clarified.

He grieved over his results lately which wasn’t up to his expectations but quite understandable because of his difficult career. Amerado has an amazing EP “Young and Strong” featured by Strongman on all music platforms.

Despite warnings from the police, hundreds of protesters gathered at the 37 Trotro Station in Accra on Thursday, September 21, 2023, to participate in the OccupyJubilee House protest.

The protesters are demanding a range of reforms, including a reduction in the cost of living, an end to corruption, and improved governance.

Law enforcement officers were present at the assembly point with buses and armed personnel to apprehend the protesters. The key among the arrested persons is the #FixtheCountry convenor Oliver Barker Vormawor.

The OccupyJubilee House protest was the latest in a series of demonstrations against the government. In recent months, there has been growing public discontent over the rising cost of living and the government’s perceived failure to address the concerns of the people.

The government has defended its record, saying that it is doing everything it can to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

However, the protestors say that the government is not doing enough and that the people of Ghana deserve better.
