Bullet Cries as Netizens Accuse Him of Killing His Artistes at the Peak of their Career

0

Popular Ghanaian artiste manager, Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet, has bitterly voiced out about claims that he sacrificed his artistes at the peak of their career.

Since 2018 to date, after Ebony died in a tragic motor accident, Bullet has faced a lot of criticism for the death of his first female artiste, Ebony Reigns, allegedly accused of being responsible for her death.

While the likes of Ebony’s father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, claimed that Bullet’s ‘negligence’ caused Ebony’s death, others claimed he sacrificed her.

However, such comments have resuscitated and intensified following Wendy Shay’s near-death experience last weekend on the Kwabenya Highway.

In the wake of Wendy Shay’s tragic accident, new concerns have been raised.

This, Bullet has described as disheartening and unwise.

“Now more people are saying that Bullet is an occultist, Bullet is into occultism, Bullet has been sacrificing his artistes but it just doesn’t make sense. They say anytime my artistes are in their prime, I kill them and bring in another one,” he told Andy Dosty.

He also gave some details of what led to Wendy Shay’s accident and how the singer is currently faring.

“She just produced two singles so she went out to shoot content. She has a nose fracture,” he added.

GLC permits Ama Governor to complete application towards call to the Bar

0

Ghanaian social media influencer, Elomi Ababio popularly known as Ama Governor has achieved a breakthrough in her pursuit of being called to the bar.

Ama Governor, the aspiring lawyer’s journey to the fraternity faced a temporary setback when a complaint was filed by a concerned citizen and was denied a call to the Bar in November 2022, despite completing all requirements.

Ama Governor has revealed that she knew about the decision by the Ghana Legal Council (GLC) to permit her application to be called to the Bar as far back as March 2023.

A statement put forth by the council cited a complaint that referenced Ama Governor engaging in “conduct unbecoming of an applicant to be called to bar”.

However, in September 2023, a report by the General Legal Council at the 2022/2023 bar conference indicated that the complaint was considered by a committee and that she had been permitted to begin applications to be called to the Bar for the October/November 2023 sessions.

Taking to her Twitter handle, she added that she was confused as to why the committee’s discussion had been reported in September.

“A 13th March decision about me, that I’ve been keeping to myself, published in September not by me. I wonder why,” she posted.

The revelation was met with mixed reactions as some users wondered why she chose to keep the news to herself and continued with the narrative of her being unfairly treated.

Foreign telenovelas with Twi translation killing creative industry – Rex Omar

0

Ghanaian highlife musician Rex Omar is not happy about the growing trend of local TV stations showing foreign telenovelas with Twi translations.

According to him, the influx of foreign soap operas on Ghanaian television with Twi translations is detrimental to the growth and recognition of local talents and portrays Ghana as unserious with its creativity.

In a recent interview Property FM, Rex Omar argued that the overreliance on foreign content sends a message that the country lacks confidence in its own creative prowess and that not only diminishes the visibility of Ghanaian actors, writers, and producers but also limits opportunities for local storytelling and the development of indigenous talent.

“Right now look at our media landscape, all the soap operas we’re showing on TV are foreign which they’ve used our local languages to interpret. This thing is causing the nation a lot of havoc and who is talking about that but Ghana is like a country without governance so everyone does what they want.

“Because there is nowhere in any civilised country like you go to India and they are showing Ghanaian soap opera on TV but they’re using India language to do interpretation. Or maybe you go to Britain and they’ll be showing Ghanaian soap opera on their popular TV station with their language, it doesn’t happen and it’s only Ghana.”

He expressed the belief that investing in homegrown talents, supporting local productions, and providing a platform for Ghanaian stories will not only boost the economy but also contribute to the preservation of the country’s unique cultural heritage.

Prophet Azuka appears before Asantehemaa over controversial curse on Kofi Pages

0

The ongoing social media feud between Prophet Azuka and Ghanaian Tiktoker Kofi Pages has taken a serious turn, as Kofi Pages’ family has decided to bring the matter before local chiefs.

The animosity between Kofi Pages and Prophet Azuka began a few weeks ago during a live TikTok session when Kofi Pages joined Azuka’s live stream.

The exchange escalated quickly when Kofi Pages publicly accused Prophet Azuka of being a fake prophet and launched a barrage of insults, accusing him of deceiving unsuspecting Ghanaians.

In the aftermath of their live altercation, Prophet Azuka resorted to a late-night live stream, where he allegedly cursed Kofi Pages and his entire family, intensifying the feud.

However, Kofi Pages’ family did not take these curses lightly. They issued a stern threat to summon Prophet Azuka before Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the paramount chief of the Ashanti Kingdom.

As it turns out, this was not an idle threat. Kofi Pages’ family has followed through on their promise and has indeed brought Prophet Azuka before the Asantehemaa, a high-ranking female chief, in a bid to resolve the ongoing conflict.

In a video shared online by Opemsuo Radio, both parties were seen presenting their sides of the story before the Asantehemaa.

Kofi Pages’ family came prepared, providing evidence in the form of a video recording that captured the heated exchange between Azuka and Kofi Pages before the curses were cast.

The chief at the palace also interrogated the family of Kofi Pages to get full details of why their son decided to supposedly test Azuka.

While all these things happened, Azuka stood, ideally with a microphone in his hands, as he listened on.

In the end, Prophet Azuka admitted that he erred and accepted that the family of Kofi Pages was right.

He eventually knelt down to apologize to the Asantehemaa and the chiefs gathered at the palace together with his junior pastors.

National Cathedral: Tonnes of steel, project vehicle and others stolen from site – Ablakwa claims

0

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has accused President Akufo-Addo of being delusional and insulting by claiming to have a superior track record in the fight against corruption.

Ablakwa was reacting to the President’s recent speech on his anti-corruption efforts during the Ghana Bar Conference held in Cape Coast on Monday, September 11, 2023.

President Akufo-Addo touted his administration’s accomplishments in the battle against corruption. He cited the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, the passage of the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), the Witness Protection Act, 2018 (Act 975), and the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Act, 2020 (Act 1034) as evidence of his commitment to combatting corruption.

In his speech, the President said he has taken several measures to combat corruption, such as establishing the Office of the Special Prosecutor, passing the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), the Witness Protection Act, 2018, (Act 975), and the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Act, 2020, (Act 1034).

“I accepted the invitation to speak here in order to take advantage of this occasion to place, once again, my government’s record on corruption for public scrutiny. It will show that my government has undertaken, arguably, the boldest initiatives since our nation attained independence, nearly sixty-six (66) years ago, to reform and strengthen the capacity of our institutions to tackle corruption in the public sector.

“…so far, every single alleged act of corruption levelled against any of my appointees has been investigated by independent bodies, such as CHRAJ, the CID, and, in some cases, by Parliament itself. It is not my job to clear or convict any person accused of wrongdoing, or of engaging in acts of corruption. That is the job of the courts and the law enforcement agencies. My job is to act on allegations of corruption by referring the issue or issues to the proper investigative agencies for the relevant enquiry and action, including, if necessary, the suspension of the affected official, pending the conclusion of investigations. That is exactly what has been done since I assumed the mantle of leadership on 7th January 2017,” the president said.

However, Ablakwa dismissed these claims as mere rhetoric and propaganda and challenged the President to account for the US$58 million he allegedly spent on digging a pit for the construction of the National Cathedral.

But the bombshell revelation that has got many talking is Ablakwa’s disclosure regarding the ongoing thefts plaguing the hallowed National Cathedral construction site. According to his “unimpeachable sources,” the site has fallen victim to a spree of thefts.

“The cathedral theft continues with latest information from my unimpeachable sources indicating that tonnes of steel (rebars), a project vehicle and a flat screen television in the project manager’s office are part of the growing list of items which have recently been stolen from this supposedly holy construction site — an abandoned project site which is strangely also under national security protection and yet recording major incidents of plunder,” Ablakwa wrote on his Twitter page.

Ablakwa said these incidents expose the President’s hypocrisy and incompetence in dealing with corruption, and urged him to stop deceiving the public with his empty promises.

“President Akufo-Addo must certainly be delusional. It is such an insult to hear the only President in the world who has dug a pit with US$58million and still managed to owe his cathedral contractors an extra US$52million tout an imaginary superior track record in the fight against corruption,” he added.

It was Bawumia who ordered the interdiction of COP Mensah, others – Abronye DC alleges

0

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, has said that revelations at the ongoing hearing on a leaked tape of an alleged plot to remove the IGP suggest that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, may have been the one behind the order to interdict some senior police officers implicated in the tape.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, at the public hearing on the tape on Tuesday, stated that it was the Police Council who ordered the interdiction of the three officers; COP George Alex Mensah, Superintendent George L. Asare and Superintendent Emmanuel Gyabi who were earlier implicated in the service.

Speaking in an interview on Oman FM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, citing Article 201 of the Constitution, noted that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the Chairman of the Police Council.

According to him, this suggests that Dr Bawumia ordered the interdiction of the said officers and not the IGP.

He added that the vice president must explain why he ordered the interdiction since the public hearing on the alleged plot to oust the IGP, which was being held by parliament, was ongoing at the time the news emerged.

“When you look at Article 200 and 201 of our constitution, it states that the Vice President is the Chairman of the Police Council. This means that he sat in and ordered for the interdiction of Alex Mensah.

“I’m only interested in this but I know people are going to say I am controversial but I don’t care,” he said in Twi.

The interdiction order of the three senior police officers which was issued on Thursday, September 8, 2023, was revoked the following day, Friday, September 9, 2023, after criticisms that it would affect the work of the committee.

Rocky Dawuni releases new single “Shade Tree”

0

International musician, songwriter, producer and activist, Rocky Dawuni releases his new single “Shade Tree” worldwide on September 12, 2023.

The single will be the first from the 3x GRAMMY Nominated musician’s forthcoming new album set to drop in 2024.

“Shade Tree” is a timely new global anthem of empowerment and unity from the Ghanaian star.

The song is based on the concept of the tree that provides shade for all of the various “shades” of humanity. It is a convergence point and an oasis for all people.

The shade tree is where conflicts and disagreements can be resolved; it provides “a shelter from the rain” which is shared amongst everyone.

Humanity shares this common destiny because we are nature and our destiny is intimately entwined with each other and with all of life just as the roots of the tree. Under the tree we are a community in our individuality.

VGMA would’ve collapsed if it was run by a Ghanaian – Patience Nyarko

0

Ghanaian gospel artiste, Patience Nyarko, has attributed the success of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to the nationality of the founder, Iyola Ayoade.

While commending the organisers of the awards for running the scheme for over 20 years, she told Mike 2 on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall that if the VGMA organisers were Ghanaians, the award scheme would not have come this far.

“Ghana Music Awards has really helped Ghana’s music industry even though they are running their business. Let’s consider the various awards we have, which of them is able to live up to expectation than the VGMAs.

Some people complain that it is organised by a Nigerian but the fact is that it would have collapsed if it was organised by a Ghanaian,” she said.

She, therefore, wondered what Ghana has been able to execute successfully and sustained.

That notwithstanding, Nyarko expressed her misgivings about the fairness of the VGMA, particularly in the selection of award winners.

She claimed her song ‘Obi Nyane Me’ deserved the Most Popular Song of the Year award but didn’t even get any nomination.

“Look at my song, ‘Obi Nyane Me’; it was popular and deserved Most Popular Song of the Year award, but it never happened. But I understand that business people will think about their interests, so it’s okay,” she said.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), is organised by Charterhouse Productions, a company owned by Nigerian business magnate Iyola Ayoade and his Ghanaian wife Theresa Ayoade.

Established in 2000, the 24th edition of the scheme was held this year at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The VGMA celebrates and recognizes outstanding achievements in the Ghanaian music scene and has played a significant role in promoting local talent on the global stage.

It is the most anticipated event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar, in spite of the criticism that comes with it.

My husband deceived me to abandon ‘Sika Gari’ and my fetish practice -Agradaa

0

Controversial woman of God and leader of Heaven Way chapel, Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Agradaa has disclosed that it was never her intention to abandon her fetish practice and gods to convert into Christianity.

According to her, she was deceived by her husband, Eric Oduro Koranteng, who is a pastor to make such a move to support the latter’s ministry.

However, her husband failed to fulfil his promises following her conversion, and even left her to her fate when she started Heaven Way Chapel two years ago.

Agradaa, who has been on an “exposing spree” against her husband in the last few months following their strained relationship, noted during a Facebook live recently that her husband has been conniving with her enemies to seek her downfall.

“I was living in Sowutuom and peacefully doing my business as a fetish priestess and then you and your pastor called Joseph Kyereh told me to stop it.

“You claimed that you have been a pastor for many years so I should stop what I was doing so that I can be Osofo Maame to support you to become successful.

“But you stabbed me in the back by conniving with Pastor Owusu Bempah to help your cause. I listened to you, stopped it and got baptised with the knowledge that you, my husband was going to take over the church but you left me to my fate and I had no choice than to lead the church myself following your betrayal,” Agraada said during the live video.

Then a popular fetish priestess known for her “Sika Gari” gods, Agradaa confessed a new life when she publicly destroyed her gods in front of her house at Sowutuom in April 2021.

Later, she made headlines when she outdoored her Heaven Way Church with the name, Evangelist Patricia to seal her new identity.

French Montana donates 500 canoes to Makoko Community where he shot ‘Wish U Well’ video

0

3x Grammy-nominated, Diamond-certified recording artist, humanitarian, and entrepreneur French Montanaannounces a generous donation of 500 canoes to the community of Makoko, an impoverished community built atop coastal waters in Yaba, Lagos Mainland. Makoko served as the site location for Montana’s latest music video “Wish U Well,” which was released last Friday.

His decision to employ local craftsmen in his donation of 500 canoes will boost the local economy and support the livelihood of the community members. This continues Montana’s journey of giving back to communities in need after deeply connecting with the people, the culture, and understanding what is necessary to support the local ecosystem.

Six years ago in Uganda, alongside the release of the diamond record “Unforgettable,” Montana embarked on a vision with the local community while filming the music video with Swae Lee to build the Suubi Health Center.

His financial contributions, matched by others, opened the door to maternal healthcare for thousands of underserved mothers, women, and children across 55 remote villages accomplished in partnership with Global Citizen and Mama Hope. This still rings true today as Montana continues his global humanitarian and advocacy efforts giving back to those that don’t have the proper funding or resources.

Makoko serves as the backdrop for the “Wish U Well” music video, capturing the resilient spirit and vibrant culture that thrives within the city. The visuals serve as a love letter to Makoko for Montana and Swae, who spent time together there learning about the way of life and connecting with the people.

But looking beyond its captivating visuals and resonant lyrics, the release of “Wish U Well” marks the catalyst for a groundbreaking philanthropic initiative that underscores Montana’s unwavering commitment to driving positive change.

Montana’s impact resonates profoundly as he collaborates with Swae Lee, gamma., and SALXCO to donate 500 wooden canoe boats to a community of 200,000 people who are endangered by critical flooding threats on a regular basis. Makoko, a suburb in Lagos, Nigeria, was once a vibrant “fishermen’s village” with homes built on stilts along the Lagos Lagoon, but now the community faces significant challenges due to pollution and sewage drainage complications.

The lack of adequate sanitation systems adds to the challenging situation, but amidst these hardships, innovative projects are emerging to revitalize the community and strengthen its ability to cope with the impacts of climate change. To ensure the success of this initiative, the partners have outlined a clear plan with Montana at the helm: The large financial contribution for the project will fund the production of the 500 boats.

With a production rate of approximately 6 boats per week, per contractor, the delivery of all 500 boats is projected to conclude within four months, by December, just in time for Christmas.

“I witnessed firsthand how water is both a lifeline and an obstacle in Makoko. These boats are essential tools transporting the residents of Makoko and goods and services,” said Montana. “As an immigrant from Morocco, giving back to communities in Africa, the place that raised me is so important.

When I was filming, I met local leaders who talked about the daily struggles and aspirations of the wider community. I was moved by their spirit and positivity, which inspired me to get involved and to help impact change.”

Earlier this summer, Montana announced a partnership with “gamma.”, a multimedia platform that prioritizes artists, offering a range of creative and business services spanning various artistic and commercial mediums. In conjunction with the partnership came the release of Montana’s latest single and video for “Good Summer“, which blends the timeless allure of Wayne Wonder’s iconic hit “No Letting Go” with the irresistible groove of Nuskie’s “New Orleans Bounce.”
