Parents throng GNAT Hall over SHS placement challenges

Hundreds of guardians have gathered at the GNAT Hall in Accra a day after the Ghana Education Service released school placement for graduates of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET) schools across the country.

Out of the 547,329 candidates who sat for the 2022 BECE, 372,780 candidates qualified for automatic placement while 165,601 candidates are required to visit the many designated centers across the country for self-placement.

SHS one students are expected to report to their respective schools on February 20.

Ahead of the release of the placements yesterday, the Director General of the GES advised parents to be cautious and not to “fall prey to deceitful persons that may approach them to pay money for placement in SHSs.”

The school placement solution center has been set up to address challenges such as; change of school, no school placement, change of status as well as gender issues, amongst others.
