Vehrad Company Ltd. handover modern gym to Eastern Naval Command

Vehrad Company Limited, a multi-purpose company with complete Logistics Management, serving the West Africa Sub-region has commissioned and handed over a modern Gym to the Eastern Naval Command, Tema – Ghana.

Vehrad company operates in the areas of customs clearing, supply, chemical waste disposal; hazardous and non-hazardous, haulage, warehousing and storage.

The facility which is estimated at a cost of GH¢1.7 million is named the Eastern Naval Command (E.N.C) Fitness Centre, and it’s fitted with advanced equipment including a Treadmill, Dumbbells Set, Chest Press, Leg Press, Squat Rack and many more.

The donation forms part of its corporate social responsibilities to support its operational areas and, most importantly, parts of our society.

Top Executives of Vehrad Company including the Managing Director; Mr. Mazen Husseini, the Operations Manager; Mr. Sammy Husseini, the Assistant Operations Manager; Mr. Omar Husseini, the General Manager; Mr. Nazih Husseini, and the Head of Legal and Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Mabel Quarshie were present at the premises of the Eastern Naval Command on Wednesday, 2nd November 2022 to commission the facility and hand it over to the command.

Delivering a speech on behalf of the Vehrad team, Mrs. Mabel Quarshie said the facility is designed not only as a standalone project but as a mechanism to generally support and measure progress against the objective of upgrading the standard of fitness and wellness of the naval command.

“Centres like this provide a place for officers to participate in fitness activities that provide a sense of pride and place of belonging, which adds value to the command,” she said.

According to her, the security agencies need to be fit in terms of wellness and mental health, hence, the gym has been stocked with a lot of equipment to keep them fit and healthy to perform their duties in protecting Ghana’s maritime domain effectively.

Mrs. Quarshie said Vehrad believes that a healthy body and mind enhances productivity, therefore the facility will enable the Ghana Navy better maintain Ghana’s territorial integrity, prevent criminal and illegal activities at sea, protect and preserve the marine environment and its community.

The outgoing Flag Officer Commanding at the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwarfo thanked the management of Vehrad Company for the facility, reiterating that it requires healthy men and women to work to achieve the mandates of the Ghana Navy and also the vision of the Chief of the Naval Staff and by extension the Ghana Armed Forces at large.

He was glad the Eastern Naval Command Fitness Centre would add up to the sport resources in the command, which will help open a whole diverse opportunity for users.

“The Gym would indeed provide provision for sports and recreation.”

Commodore Kwarfo recalled that, Vehrad, extending their support to the Eastern Command has been through the growing of social networks and partnership. “It is our hope that this growing network of mutual relationship and involvement in community development between Vehrad Limited and the Eastern Naval Command would grow stronger”.

The event was well attended by the high hierarchy of the Eastern Naval Command including the incoming Flag Officer Commanding at the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Maxwell Arhen, some staff members from Vehrad and other invited dignitaries.
