Iconic football legend, Asamoah Gyan, is stepping into a key role for the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections.
He’s been appointed to lead the “Youth and Sports” sector on the Manifesto Committee for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s Flagbearer. This decision comes after Gyan hinted on social media, urging fellow sports legends to contribute to enhancing the appeal of sports for the youth.
The committee is tasked with a thorough review of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos, aiming to engage stakeholders and craft a practical 2024 manifesto. Gyan, with his extensive experience, will play a crucial part in addressing genuine concerns and socio-economic challenges faced by Ghanaians, ensuring the manifesto’s lasting relevance.
Notably, Gyan, a three-time FIFA World Cup representative for Ghana, holds the title of Africa’s highest goal scorer in the competition’s history.
