$100,000 In Damages: Cruise People Limited Sues Black Sherif over alleged breach of Contract

Cruise People Limited, the company that booked Ghanaian musician Black Sherif to perform at the Afro Cruise Jam concert in Greece, has filed a lawsuit against the artist for alleged breach of contract.

The lawsuit, which was filed at the High Court in Accra, claims that Black Sherif failed to honor the agreement between the two parties, resulting in the cancellation of the concert.

According to the lawsuit, Cruise People Limited paid Black Sherif $20,000 as a deposit for his performance at the concert. In return, Black Sherif was required to create a video confirming his participation in the event.

However, the artist reportedly did not provide the video, leading to the cancellation of the booking.

Cruise People Limited is seeking the return of the $20,000 deposit, as well as $18,000 in lost cabin booking costs.

They are also demanding interest on the $20,000 from April 18, 2023, until the date of the final payment. Additionally, the organizers are seeking $50,000 in lost profits resulting from the alleged breach of contract.

In the lawsuit, Cruise People Limited argues that Black Sherif’s failure to confirm his participation in the concert jeopardized the entire event, as his availability was crucial to attracting patronage.

This conduct, they claim, constitutes a fundamental breach of the agreement and warrants legal action.

Black Sherif has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
