The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has appealed to the people of Krachi in the Volta Region not to vote for the governing NDC that is using what he termed a last minute road construction to win their votes.

He was speaking an ecstatic gathering during a mini rally on Tuesday at Osramanae in the Krachi West Constituency of the Volta Region whilst on his national campaign tour dubbed Apam Foforↄ in the area.

Despite the fact that some roads in the Volta region have recently been under construction and others pending a few weeks to elections, Ivor Greenstreet told his supporters that political parties should not be voted because of last minute road construction.

He observed that it has become the habit of incumbent governments to take extraordinary steps of grading, resurfacing and constructing new roads just a few weeks to elections all for the purpose of acquiring votes. He believes that if development is truly the agenda of ruling parties then it must be a continuous process but not wait until elections.

Some residents also complained to him that the main road only resurfaced because of the recent death and funeral of the Regional Minister’s father whose funeral took place close by.

The National First Vice Chairperson, Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim stated that they should examine their circumstances and realize that they have been voting NPP and NDC for the last 24 years without any change in their circumstances.

She implored them not to cast their votes for any party other than “Sankofa-CPP-Akoko”.

The Volta Regional Chairman of the Convention People’s Party, Mr. Thomas Ntumy, also spoke about the critical need for peace as the nation approaches the December elections.
