Ghana Music Awards Undergoes Sponsorship Transition Amidst Vodafone to Telecel Shift

Charterhouse, the organizers of the annual ‘Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ (VGMAs), are navigating a shift in sponsorship due to Vodafone’s transition to Telecel.

In a recent interview, Charterhouse’s Public Relations Officer, Robert Klah, clarified that during this transition, the prestigious awards scheme will be temporarily referred to as the ‘Ghana Music Awards’ until a new headline sponsor is unveiled. Mr. Klah stated, “We have an official sponsor, just that there is a transitioning happening. So basically, we can only put flyers out there as ‘Ghana Music Awards.’ We will announce the sponsor once everything is complete.”

As Vodafone undergoes this transition to Telecel, a telecommunication company that acquired majority shares in Vodafone Ghana last year, Charterhouse is actively seeking a new sponsor.

The call for nominations for the 2023/2024 music works has already commenced, and Charterhouse anticipates revealing the new sponsor once the transition is concluded.
