Ghana Police Service threatens to deal with violence creators in voter’s registration exercise

The Ghana Police Service has stated that it will deal with anybody who initiates violence in the ongoing voter’s registration exercise in the country.

In a statement released this evening, the Police administration said it was gravely concerned about reports of violence in the registration exercise.

It said those reports create tension, alarm, fear and insecurity among the populace.

The Police administration however assured that all the necessary actions have been taken or are being taken to bring culprits to book.

The administration added that every complaint of violence being reported was being investigated and indicated that some are already in court and due process will be followed in all cases.

The Ghana Police Service blamed politicians for some of the acts of violence being recorded at some registration centers.

It further cautioned everyone adhere to the rules and regulations laid down for the registration exercise.
