GMB 10: Badu and Alaya talk unemployment, teenage pregnancy

Two of the 10 contestants in this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful television reality show were Tuesday hosted on Accra-based radio station, 3FM, to talk about unemployment and teenage pregnancy.

Alaya from the Upper East Region and Badu from the Ashanti Region joined Miriam Osei Agyemang, host of 3FM’s mid-morning show, Urban Blend, to share their experiences and also to talk about what the pageant which is in its 10th year.

In the next five days, each of the 10 contestants will be given the opportunity during Urban Blend on 3FM between 10:30 – 11:30 to talk about their experiences and the show. It is designed to keep listeners up to date on their favourite contestants.

Winner of this year’s season of the GMB dubbed Legacy Edition, will have the opportunity to the covetous crown for good.

“I wanted a platform to push a positive agenda which is helping the women in my region. My plan is to use our cherished shea butter to create jobs and to empower women in the Upper East Region. We have resources in abundance and not everyone, to the best of my knowledge, knows the use and benefits. It’s all around and not being used for what it’s supposed to be used for”.


 

Badu talks teenage pregnancy in the Ashanti Region

“I was inspired to take up this [pageant] because I experienced that, not directly but my sibling gave birth and my mum took the baby [to] allow her to go back to school. She has always been proud that she was able to go back to school and I believe that if all young ladies are able to go back to school after experiences like this, it will help the whole of Ghana and not just the Ashanti Region”.
