KenkeyFest, Ghana’s premier food festival dedicated to celebrating the beloved dish kenkey, is joining forces with the NGO One Heart Cares.
A portion of the ticket proceeds will contribute to the foundation, specifically aimed at supporting renal patients. The collaboration, as conveyed through a social media statement, emphasizes Kenkey Fest’s commitment to saving lives, offering hope to renal patients, and disseminating crucial information about kidney disease.
Notably, funds from the gate proceeds of Kenkey Fest 24 will be directed to the One Heart 4 Dialysis campaign, providing essential financial assistance to over 1,195 renal patients in Ghana undergoing treatment.
Kenkey Fest, now in its 7th edition, is a gathering for kenkey enthusiasts. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, 9th March 2024, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, starting at 9 am.
Attendees can relish various types of kenkey, such as Ga Kenkey and Fante Dokono, paired with an assortment of fish, meat, and pepper. The festival promises a day filled with fun games, sales exhibitions, comedy, face painting, networking opportunities, and vibrant vibes.
