Meek Mill announces plans to visit Ghana again

American rapper Robert Rihmeek Williams, widely known as Meek Mill has revealed his intention to visit Ghana again.

He revealed this on X (formerly Twitter) while replying to a question by one of his fans during #AskMeek.

“I’m coming back to Ghana too.“ he quoted.

In January 2023, Meek Mill spent time in the country performing at the ‘Afro Nation’ concert and also filmed a music video at the seat of the presidency. This sparked significant online reactions and controversy.

Meek Mill initially shared a snippet of the video on his Instagram and X accounts, but he later deleted it due to the intense backlash it generated.

The rapper faced criticism for what many perceived as a desecration of the presidency, with a large portion of the public finding the decision to film at the presidential premises disrespectful.

But looking back on the interaction and explaining his decision to remove portions of the music video, Meek Mill claimed he saw Ghanaians were against the act.

His statement was a response to a fan who asked on X why he deleted the visuals then.

The Tweep asked, “Why did you delete the music video you shot when you came to Ghana?” Meek Mill replied, “They ain’t like it I respect people.”

Meek Mill apologized to Ghanaians.

Overwhelmed with the barrage of insults and chastisements, Meek Mill, apologized for posting his controversial music video, shot at the Jubilee House.
