My husband’s beef with Samini healthy – Shatta Michy

Shatta-Michy 2

Shatta Michy, the wife of dancehall king Shatta Wale, has described the beef between her husband and rival Samini as ‘healthy beef’.

For the past few years, the two, who command a huge following, waged what could be described as the fiercest music war in the Ghanaian music industry over who is the ‘King of Dancehall’.

For most part of the beef, Samini, who remain mostly civil, was at the receiving end of persistent attacks on his personality and family by Shatta Wale.

Shatta Michy was a guest on 3FM’s weekend entertainment show Showbiz927 hosted by Heavy D and said her husband’s ‘beef’ with Samini is a healthy one

“It’s cool and makes the whole showbiz thing interesting and there is going to be nothing to blog about if there was no ‘beef’ and it doesn’t just happen in Ghana”.

According to Shatta Michy, she sees the beef between her husband and Samini as a ‘healthy beef’ once the fans are not fighting each other and isn’t ruling out a future collaboration between the two.

“I’m following from social media just like the fans are because it is more fun from there.”

Her acting career

She said she did not realise her potential to act until she made her maiden role in Coco Brown and stated that she’s had several offers since then.

But I am very selective because of the ‘Mahama Paper’ involved, she said.

“I think it came from the interview I had with Delay and she is the producer of Coco Brown and she discovered me on there.”

She continued: “The character she made me play just seems familiar and that is me in real life, playful and happy because I am a happy child”.

Answering to the question on a role she would never play on a movie set, she said she wouldn’t do anything to tarnish her reputation and that of her husband because of Ghanaians may read into things differently even though it could just be a movie role.

“We are in Africa and in Ghana and Ghanaians do not take things lightly even though it could be a movie role.

“I have people who love me so I wouldn’t want to disappoint them.”
